Photographer's Note

This photo of the Caerlaverock Castle was taken from south east, a slightly different angle than the previous one (south west). Caerlaverock is advertised as the only triangular castle in Great Britain. To make the triangular plan apparent you would need a drone though. Don’t worry I won’t show it from the third angle since it was on the north side and the light was the worst there.

The origin of the name as explained on Wikipedia was not entirely certain, the first part: caer in Welsh means fort, castle, laverock in Scottish means skylark.
