Fira, Santorini, Greece

This lovely statue sits on the edge of the view of the caldera in a little restaurant that only serves cocktails and desserts, a refreshing stop in the mid-day heat of Greece.

(Statue not added to photo- the halo may be from my sharpening technique or lack of technique, I guess! I have seen it in my other images lately, also. Bear with me.)

In my opinion the problem with the picture is that the digital manipulation is quite obvious.

This is a genuine example of greek kitsch. A sordid replica of the Venus de Milo set against a neutralised landscape of Santorini. Whatever I say, some people will love it.

a nice image Cheryl, I like the contrast between the orange of the statue and the blue of the sea. nice houses in the background too, under the hot mediterranean sun.

Hi Cheryl. You took a really beautiful photograph. I specialy like this orange statue on the blue of the sea. The halo arround the statue makes a nice effect as if the statue was a real greek god ! Thx for your comment too. Bye Quentin

I love this image, I have seen it a few times from a few different photographers. The composition is always beautiful.
