I love this photo. The colours are so warm and natural. I'd love to know this woman's life story. The lines on her face say there are tales to be told.

Hi Michel, I think your wife was intrigued about the yellow colour on the face of the mother, just like the child is intrigued by the instrument held by a woman (your wife). The women in the country side and some from orthodex family use turmeric paste while bathing(turmeric stick is rubbed on a granite stone and the paste is made) primarily to avoid growth of facial hair. It also helps to keep the germs away. By the way don't be fooled by the indifferent look on the woman's face, she is likely to narrate to her husband fondly about her being photographed. Venu

Very nice photograph. I love the rich, warm colors, and I like that she's partially hidden behind the hat she's holding up. This adds mystery.
