Thanks for your thoughtful comment. There are a lot of 8000m peaks in Nepal and the Karakoram, which take the first 23 places (all in the Himalayas). Indeed the peak is like a canine tooth - never thought about it in that way before!

I actually shot the photo in RAW, and I did recover some info, but I suppose not too much. Maybe I'll change the noise reduction parameters next time...
