Great smarcell 2009-05-05 0:33

Mustang area is one of my dreams. Fantastic lunar landscape with just the red building. I see that you have been there in january. I thought it was too cold and snowy in that period of the year.

Default To smarcell: January in Mustang

Hi Stefano
Actually it was very warm, regarding that it was january. Day temperatures, with the sun shining, would be around 10 to 15C, whereas in night time they would sink quite drastically. But we were as well expecting much lower temperatures including a bit of snow.
We were in upper/lower mustang for about 12/13 days and had just one day where it was clouded weather. The rest of the days were a bliss. It really is a beautiful landscape, and the culture is as fascinating.
We actually were happy going to mustang in winter, as there aren't crowds of tourists at that time. In those days spent in upper mustang, we just met one other couple trekking. People told us the villages are crowded of tourists in high season.
Cheers and thanks for your comment.
Laura
