Great exposure and nice and sharp. Was this a vertical when you shot it? If so it would have been nice to see the hand. Portraiture people always suggest that appendages should not be cut off at the elbows or wrists and / or knees or ankles. The background is nicely out of focus but we would not know what she is doing if it wasn't for the write up (which was excellent by the way)

Hi Phil. Thanks for the critique. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply, but I somehow overlooked this before. No, this wasn't a vertical - it was landscape format, but there was a lot of clutter around the woman which is why I cropped it the way I did. However, I agree with what you say about cutting off the hand, and in hindsight I should have cropped more off the bottom to keep it in a 6x4 landscape format. I think I was trying to retain as much of the colourful coat as possible in frame, but it would have been better not having half a hand. Cheers . . . David
