Default Big tragedy in Asia

I`ve recently heard that there was a big earthquake in Asia, affecting several countries and causing an unbelievably high number of casualties.

I feel so sorry for this, a big tragedy affecting so many families.

As TE is a international site, I express my condolences to all the affected people.

I wonder about Henk and other friends living there...I read about Tamil Nadu state having nearly 2000 victims.

Please post if you are ok, all of asian Ters.

K.

I am so sorry Simon, nice to hear you are physically ok (are you in Asia now?), but I know you must be sorrowed by this terrible event...

I look forward to hear news from Henk,
We are watching the news, here very far away considering the distance, but very close in our hearts

I expect Henk is busy right now trying to find out news, but Henk himself was going to leave to Tamil Nadu at te 8th of Januari, so I guess he is safe.
Sorry, Henk, if I answered this question in stead of you, but I think we are worried.

This tragedy has touched many countries that we elect to travel to . I am so sorry it happened, and on Xmas week-end where we all offered our greetings and wishes to each other. I do not feel like posting shots, seems for now so minimal, and thinking how much these places, these people have brought to our lives, would a day of mourning on TE, a day of communion and hopes, without uploads be appropriate? Or Adam, if unpractical, a one-day banner to show we are a caring community, not a loose assembly of individuals.

Sorry if that sounds wishy-washy.

Herve

Default I agree with you Herve

the tragedy has touched thousands of families, and of course all the people who was visited and love those places full of beautiful, genuine and nice people...

this is up to Adam, I guess, we are a community and we can not be numb under these circumstances.

one earth, one heart

A huge tragedy on a day that should have been a day of joy and peace for so many people... I'm following the news via TV and Reuters. I feel very sad.

I've a special thought of sympathie for all the TE members who I know have a strong emotional relation with the people of Asia and the countries which have been heavily damaged by the earthquake.

Only after posting I heard the sad news ... the black border was maybe a presentiment .... so I adepted the note.

Maybe out of solidarity a black border could be express our symphaty and our sadness, I myself feel so immobilised not being able to help there now, indeed what is a photo worth compared to a human life !
