havent been to cairo yet, so i dont know the difference between the "islamic" cairo and the "nonislamic" one... what do i see in this shot seem like the "poor" cairo to me... beautiful black and white this is , in good contrast... a dynamic one with the man walking towards you without even seeing you... (and those breads look yummy to me:)...)

"Islamic Cairo" is a particular district--it's the old part of the city that dates back to the period when Islamic empires ruled Egypt, starting around the 10th century. The only part of Cairo which would not be predominantly Islamic by religion would be the Coptic district. A lot of Islamic Cairo seems to be poor, but it is far from the poorest part of town. It has tourist sites like Khan el Khalili market.
Those breads are definitely fresh! Thanks for your comment. Regards, Ken. |
