Great rbcy1974 2005-04-14 14:29

Hi Mark
Very nice picture. The boy seems to have noticed you but not the girl. Still the boy's expression is somewhat mischevious. I like the background wall as in the andes normally walls are white so even a bit off white adds to the photo. Where else in Peru did you go to?

I will go in June, but will do the typical thing which I have done a few times (I have no choice as my partner is french and has never been there) but there are so many places there that are undiscovered , maybe next time.

Default Tips for saving money while being a student

Hi Mark I guess from your travel experiences you probably know that if you travel budget to poorer countries, its the plane ticket that costs the most.

For saving money if you dont mind Ill share with you somehting that I did while studying in the States and Canada:

Do services to people's houses directly in upper middle class areas.

In Miami I washed cars on the weekend and I did it by knocking on people's doors telling them I was a student etc after a while I got a good clientele of regulars + I was always able to get customers on the spot. I charged 15 - 20 USD for an inside + outside car and 40 - 50 including a wax. I used to make around 500 USD a weekend. it worked both in Miami as well as North Carolina. A thing I did in Canada and then North Carolina was cleaning people's windows, again the money was amazing. This way you may not have to wait so long to take your trip. :)
