Photographer's Note

I have been absent from TE for the past few days with work keeping me busy. My return post is the second i took while on safari in the Okavango Delta. Anyone who has travelled in the Delta in October will know how hot, and humid it gets and how hard the polers have to work as they slowly motion their wooden makoros through the channels. It is a great way to see the Delta in close up and encounters with elephants and hippos are just about guaranteed. I took this photo of my poler as she took a short break. I am amazed at how cool and composed she appears given we had been travelling for over an hour.
