Prayer Time, a photo from Cairo, Delta

Photographer's Note

It's Friday around midday in Cairo and people come together in mosques and on the street to pray to Allah. There are loudspeakers here to broadcast the sermon - and I was told that this street by the fruit market would be one of the public places people would come to for this. I found a balcony in a building to stand on to look down and watch the event.

Hello David. An interesting picture of full contrasts. At first sight the praying men and the vegetable market are a contradiction. But if one regards the picture longer, everything fits in the best way. The view from above results in a fantastic perspective. Regards, Wolfgang.
