Photographer's Note
A scene from the Tutankhamen exhibit in the old Cairo Archeology Museum. The entire museum content was moved to Giza, and was set to be completed and opened by April 2020, but because of Covid-19, that date has been postponed until April this year. It appears the young Pharaoh is leading an attack on the Nubians from Sudan, to the south of Egypt, along with some rather savage dogs. I have repaired a few scratches and blemishes in photoshop. Shot through glass. The Tomb of King Tut is actually in the Valley of the Kings near Luxor, and some visitors go looking for the mummy of this king within this Cairo museum, which does feature the mummified remains of many other Pharaohs, but are disappointed to find that he isn't here. I saw both. No photos allowed at his tomb in Valley of the Kings, as well! I think this is a painted wooden box. I am not sure what was inside it. Here's the whole box:

And here's what it contained (I was curious so went looking) "The chest was used as when discovered it contained the precious and personal items of Tutankhamun."
It contained:
1- A pair of papyrus sandals
2- 3 pairs of gilded sandals.
3- One gilded headrest.
4- Necklaces.
5- Labels.
6- Embroidered ceremonial robes belonging to the king, one of them was studded with over 3000 golden rosettes.

Hello Chris,
At the sight of such magnificent representations of high-quality culture from thousands of years ago, I am always amazed at how this rich cultures have disappeared in the centuries since.
Egyptian and Persian antiquity are striking examples of this.
Fortunately, the necessary remains have been preserved.
Excellent presentation
Have a good weekend, groet Rob

Hello Chris,
There have been some excellent TV programmes about the preparation of Tut's tomb remains, for the new exhibition.
Some things which had been forgotten about and newly recorded.
This is an excellent photograph of the scene, showing Tut in a chariot and using a bow on his enemies. It shows that he used hunting dogs, too!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Chris,
Plusieurs musées interdisent la prise de photo. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de l'oeuvre d'art. La lumière fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hi Chris
Thanks for sharing this fascinating artwork, there are so many details to look at here!
Let's hope that April 2021 is better than 2020.
Best wishes
Kasia
PS. I travelled on that train from Stockholm to Kiruna and back in March 2017. It was an overnight service so I slept through most of the journey but did get to see some snow-covered nocturnal landscapes.

Hello Chris,
For a moment I thought it was a mosaic. I'm not sure if this is painted on papyrus or on a wall ...
Beautiful, highly detailed scene.
It's not visible that you took the photo through glass.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Chris,
Muito interessante a sua nota e a foto. A arte e a historia egipicia são muito ricas . Embora ao longo do tempo muitas obras foram saqueadas ainda sobrou muito material espalhado também pelo mundo. Excelente close e foto.
Parabéns
