Police Officers Club Zamalek, a photo from Cairo, Delta

Photographer's Note

On the Nile River island of Zamalek in Central Cairo, is the Police Officer's club complex. I had spotted it from the Cairo Tower Observation deck on the southern end of the island. I had no idea what it was and investigated, but was politely asked not to enter the grounds. Turns out it was the Police Officer's Club! The gardens, fountains and neoclassical buildings had piqued my interest. To the far right is part of the Helwan University Faculty of Physical Education for Girls, most of it hidden behind the pink buildings reaching to the Banquet Hall at far left. The section seen here suffered a serious fire in March 2013, probably why security was so tight. In the bg below is the Cairo Tower.

Hello Chris,
I think security would have been tight at a place like this even without any preceding fire. I'm almost surprised you could take a photo even from this distance. But they are fine pink buildings, so they were worth the slight risk. The red wall with large paintings add further brightness to the photo.

Le panneau avec les décorations attire le regard. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de l'immeuble du Club des officiers de police. La lumière rehausse la beauté des couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hi Chris,the view from the tower in the WS is truly magnificent, and also the capture of the police office is absolutely perfect, even if I would prefer not to enter it because here the freedoms are very conditioned by the regime. There is an error in the title, with an E instead of an A, I realized it because Zamalek is also the name of a football team in Cairo that I know very well ... hehe ... Oops! The secret Police Officer's Club of Cairo made public and announced with photo on TE!
It is a beautiful building and well presented with its pink facade strongly striking with the blue sky.

Zamalek quarter in Cairo is known for being an "island" of beautiful architecture designed place in the city of Cairo.
Superb outcome for such a picture, looks far away from ordinary places around cairo.

Elegant building. Usually in the places like this they do not like the photos.
I am in Egypt noe. You complained about hot weather. I complain about COLD. I must wear warm clothes and water also too cold for swimming for me.
