In a narrow back alley of an older part of Cairo, a father and son take time out from their work and from the heat, to have a drink and a chat.

I don't really know if they're father and son, but it doesn't matter...

i´s not easy for me to take photos of people and thier environment..
You did ithis one very well, very good sharpness, details, choice of B&W that improves impact to the image and moment.. as the composition that I like too much..

This is a basic material for a good photography, Ken.
The father and son' part of it - immaculate...
The plastic container' part of it - out of question...

seems like i grab the photos of yours which do not receive too much audience who leave any word with....:-))
i love the intimacy of this image, as if you were not present there (or at least - not visible)... the moment caught is perfect... the plastic container - is the greatest achievement of africa, as some travelers say...

It's true that you could have cropped considerably the image as the most important part is concentrated on the left, but what's on the left is lovely... A very natural pose from both of them.

A beautiful moment of closeness, captured with excellent sensitivity.
Love the asymmetric composition, which gives it sufficient "air" so their closeness gets the emphasis it deserves.
