Fasilides' Palace, a photo from Amara, North

Photographer's Note

Emperor Fasilides broke with the tradition of previous Ethiopian emperors of having a travelling tent city capital and founded the city of Gondar in the 17th century. Subsequent emperors added their own buildings in the "Royal Enclosure", a walled area of 7ha.

This shot shows part of the interior of F's palace.

Hi Steve. Not very ostentatious for an emperor. Haile Selassie would have had a more luxurious palace I presume. Lovely honeyed tones. Well handled exposure.

PS. In your reframing of "Chasing a Butterfly," the viewer would not get the feeling of a chase.
