Pelicans
The White Pelican, Pelecanus onocrotalus also known as the Eastern White Pelican or Great White Pelican is a bird in the pelican family. It breeds from southeastern Europe through Asia and in Africa in swamps and shallow lakes. The tree nest is a crude heap of vegetation.
More than 50% of White Pelicans breed in the Danube Delta. This pelican migrates short distances, wintering in northeast Africa. In flight, it is an elegant soaring bird, with the head held close to and aligned with the body by a downward bend in the neck.
Black terns
Those in flight are white winged black Terns. They are migrated from Europe to this area in the winter.

Hello Way,
Very good capture of all those pelicans on the island and in the water and shot at the right moment when the terns were flying over. Beautiful natural colours.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Way,
I think animals belong on TN, therefor i do not comment them a lot here on TE, but want to make and exception for this one, because these birds fit so beautiful inside this landscape, looks like if they are there for thousands of years. Breeding and fishing grounds, which also attracked other birds. A good capture here with the flying birds on top, gives an extra dynamic feeling to the picture...
Have a nice weekend, Henk

Hello Way,
Lovely composition using the different layers of action. The Pelicans sitting in the water, the other birds (?) flying overhead and the far off background combine to make a truly memorable image.
Beautiful image, my compliments.

Hi Way,
Seems a very ruccous and noise place with all these birds milling about - but a photographers paradise I'd say, and you did it perfect justice. Well done and TFS. Gerald

hi way
That must have been a wonderful trip and you got a most gorgeous shot, this one is very good too by the density of birds,as well as lovely contrast of the black flaying birds with the white pelicans at rest.

Wow, love both of them, Way. It immeadiately reminds me of the less known lake Bogoria, where I had an amazing 24h experience. In the thumbnails it seems that both pictures show the same but not at all. The other is more successful for sure but I like this one as well for the combination of the two birds. And it's quite dynamic and alive. The light wasn't much favorable for you, but the flying terns are perfectly sharp anyway. Excellent work.

Wonderful one, Way! A truly worthy follow-up to your previous one. Huge dynamics, stunning colors, perfectly framed. In all honesty : I really appreciate your work, it's light-years above average and totally personal.
WAY to go, WAY! Keep 'em coming.
Have a great weekend, I'll see you soon.
Ciao,

Hi, Way
Another NatGeo-like image, technically perfect. I wouldn't change a thing here. It's impressive the way you get these "layers" of different species.
Congrats and TFS.

Hello Way! This is really amazing how far they fly to find warmer grounds during our winter. A wonderful combination of birdlife but also the land-water marks that we can see in the back make this scene very special to me. I like to watch them flying, so elegant once they are up, excellent pilots :)) Enjoy your Sunday ... Barbara.
PS. Oh yes, Migros has excellent chocolates and I buy it all the time ... isn't it something that we have Migros now at the Airport and that they have the same prices as everywhere else in the land??? Not many airports have this oportunity and you pay too much for everything you buy.

Wonderful wildlife image with the swimming pelicans and flying terns. The timing was perfect and the DOF well chosen, as the background is nicely blurred so it doesn't distract the eye from the action.

Ciao dear Way,
another stupendous image of your African report. The pelicans are curious, but fascinating birds. Unfortunately, in Europe they can only be admired in the zoo. I prefer to see them in your beautiful photos, compliment!
Ciao, happy week

Sabaidie Way!
Beautiful birds these pelicans! The black terns create a diversion. The picture works well in layers. Actually the flying birds against the blurred BG gives an impression of a 3D image
Have a good week!
