Photographer's Note

Tsavo East National Park covers an area of about 12,000 km2, 40% of Kenya's parks' total area.
This vast park lies in low semi arid country at the eastern edge of the inland plateau, north of the main Mombasa-Nairobi road and railway. Much of the park is level, open country with scattered rocky ridges and outcrops. Due to its size, the park is one of the world's wildlife and biodiversity strongholds.
The Yatta plateau, a long, flat topped lava ridge, runs along the western boundary of the park. Beneath it flows the Athi river which joins the Tsavo river, just above the Lugard falls, to become the Galana river, a permanent river that cuts right across the park. The seasonal Tiva and Voi rivers are important features of the Northern and Southern sectors respectively. There are scattered seasonal pools, swamps and dams, but relatively few sources of permanent water.
One of the great spectacles of the park is the Mudanda rock between Voi and Manyani. This 1 1/2 km long outcrop is a water catchment area which supplies a natural dam at its base. In the dry season, hundreds of elephants come to drink and bathe here.

Fantastic colours, and the tree in the foreground helps give this a good composition.
It looks as though the image has too much red, especially just below the horizon, probably from the filter you used.
Still a lovely fiery sunset though!

This is how I imagine Africa. The strong coloured sky withwarm orange and red tones and the open, beautiful landscpae with just a few trees with those amazing shapes, almost like the were sculptured.
Good simple composition here. Nice mood and atmosphere captured.

Czerwien nieba swietnie oddaje atmosfere Afryki, w polaczeniu z pieknym krajobrazem sawanny- zdjecie to ma swoj niepowtarzalny, gracy klimat. Gratuluje. gr

Great capture of this sunset. Fantastic colors!Cokin filter works for me. I like the way you include the tree in the foreground, it gives an good perspective. Good composition for this very nice landscape. A dreaming vision of Africa! Well done!

Another georgeous sky! I'd clone out the white spots in the bottom left, a minor distraction. I wonder wether you've used a fill in flash for this shot and if not what the picture would have looked like.

Dzien Dobry Jerzy, that's a great sunset photo, the warm tonal ranges you captured here are splendid, I like too the lonely rising tree, it helps much making a very nice composition.

bonjour, je viens de visiter tes photos sur ta galerie sur le Kénya...je suis enchantée de pouvoir contempler quelques photos de cette région car j'ai le privilège de m'y rendre fin Janvier et il parait que c'est la pleine saison...t'es-tu vacciné contre la fiévre jaune??? il parait que ce n'est plus nécessaire...cette photo est magnifique en plus les couchers de soleil sont ma passion...voir ma galerie...et je peux te dire que j'en rêve déjà ...en plus le titre superbement choisi, ce film que j'ai vu 5 fois eet que j'aime énormément me rapelle vraiment cette vue de la pleine...les couleurs sont magnifiques et bien rendues...merci pour le partage...amicalement BI
