Photographer's Note
At Morondava there is a colony of Baobab, huge and unique tree, appeared at the fairy-tale 'A Little Prince'. They were grown for some hundred years.
In July and August all leaves fell down from the trunks and they look upside down, like the roots toward the sky......

Très belle lumière, un ciel sans nuage qui permet les dégradés du violet à l'orange.
L'ombre des arbres est imposante.
Très agréable !

Great subject for a silhouette shot. Baobabs have an especially strange silhouette (up-side down like you said) making them come right out of the picture.
Good job!

That is just a very surreal picture! Try mirroring it upside down and inverting it and it would not really look that much stranger as it does now.
But as 'The little prince' is very much about our world, like the king, or the man who would turn on and off the lights are showing us a uniqueness that makes this world.
In the same sense, the unreal shape of the baobabs stipulates our world.
Thanks for this picture!

JS: really loving this acting stage of trees. Great silhouetted shot. Great flora underscores an otherwise mundane sunset. regards, c

This is undoubtedly one of the best posts that I have seen on TE of Madagascar's baobab trees, JS. A beautiful composition, perfectly timed to take advantage of the setting sun, and beautiful rich colours. This is one that I am adding to my favourites. Cheers . . . David

Not many people travel to this part of the World, however, it appears to have great landscapes much different from the other parts of the World. The trees are really different from the usual ones and the sun and its reddish light in the background adorns this photo so well.
