Photographer's Note
A damaged old negative from the archives, a minaret in Meknes taken from a rooftop of one of the tourist attractions, I don't remember which, this was after pouring rain, the dark areas on the minaret are water stains, the lens heavily distorted the perspective, I tried to correct it as best as I could, and darkened the sky separately.
Founded in the 11th century by the Almoravids as a military settlement, Meknes became a capital under Sultan Moulay Ismaïl (1672–1727), the founder of the Alawite dynasty. The sultan turned it into a impressive city in Spanish-Moorish style, surrounded by high walls with great doors, where the harmonious blending of the Islamic and European styles of the 17th-century Maghreb are still evident today.

Hello,
colours are nice and picture is well contrasted. But why did you only take the roofs? Were the houses & "buildings" not nice enough?
Best regards

Wonderful bright and clear colours! I like the perspective with the minaret on the very left hand side leaving space for the beautiful white clouds on the sky. Very well done for a "damaged old negative"!!

Great colours again Tan - deep, saturated blues in the sky. Composition works well with the minaret off to the left side (and another one away in the distance).
The scan is fine, there's a little bit of noise but nothing major.

Very nice shot. There is nothing wrong with it. I like the sky and I am not distracted by the little noise. Well done.

Tan what I like about this photo is the vertical lines of the tower and the buildings on the bottom create a nice right angle effect. The tower has a companion just like it in the distance. A interesting design and interesting effect it has on the land. Nice work!

The coloured roof tops are eyecatching. The colours are wonderful. Could have avoided the concrete beam at left bottom. I love the deep blue sky with those white clouds. And the minarent in the far allows depth to the shot. Great composition. Congrats and TFS

Hi Tan. It's funny how some of your damaged negative shots turn into some of my favorites of yours. I don't agree with the first critique at all about not including the lower buildings. I think its more surprising, creative, and dynamic the way you approached it. Another good one Tan!

Salaam Captain,
quality does not mook that bad on my screen, the colors are strong and the rising structure of the minaret tower contrasts well against the polarised sky.
Have a nice sunday,

Hi Tan
Thank you for digging in your archives to find these old negatives to upload!
There is a nice depth in this one, i think the roof top perspective works pretty well and enhances that depth.
I dont find any major problems with the scan, but maybe that is because of the small size we upload here.
Thanks
Harry

Dear Tan!
Its very interesting to emphasize roofs and sky! POV is beautiful and the mood is fabled! Perhaps people on the balkony would make more better the photo!
Thank you, nice days,

Strong colors and contrast between the green minaret and the polarized sky/clouds.
Just for educational purposes: it would be great to have your original picture in WS to appreciate the WS that you did on it.

Hi Tan
YOu've done a very good job on the PP if the quality really was that bad originally. This has lovely vibrant colours and nice shapes of the rooftops against this wonderful polarised sky. Very eyecatching shot.

Excellent composition with the view above the roofs and the two towers.Verry good quality for a scanne image. The green of the roofs and the tiles looks great as the fantastic sky.The contrast is amazing.

Hi Tan
The minaret contrasts superbly against the sky. The turquoise green is so delicate...I also like the rooflines in the bottom of the frame. Well done!

The quality of the negative may not be that good, but the quality of the processing is top notch. Great saturated colours, and the contrast between the bright minaret and the dark blue of the sky is very good. Beautiful shot!

Hi Tan,
Great sky + cool building. The division of the frame is well managed, not too much of the buildings below, but enough of them to show the depth. Good texture and color of the mosque...seems like the skyscraper of this place.

Hi Tan,
Well for a "damaged old negative" I think the quality is quite good, Sure, there's a bit of noise in the sky and the clouds, but the colours are wonderful and your POV, as always, is very well chosen. I like all these roofs at the bottom of the image and the detail of the other minaret at the back.

Hi Tan,
Still a great shot even though it's an old damaged negative. The colours are amazing and I really love the contrast between the great view over the tower with the rooftops against the deep blue sky. Great shot, Tan!

Hi Tan, missed this one somehow. Beautiful green tower catching nice light, and deep perspective of clouds and roofs. Very nice to have another green minaret in the BG.

Hi Tan,
No matter about the water stains on the minaret, because they perfectly match the patchwork hue of the wall below. The overall POV here is dramatic and inspiring, with the polarizer providing your usual stunning sky. The lines, graphism, and architectural details are well appreciated here. Well captured.

It's been a while since we've seen one of your trademark skies, Tan. If you hadn't told us this was from a damaged negative, I would never have known. You've done a good job fixing it up. I would have just thought that the slight graininess was due to it being a scan from a 10 year old negative. Good composition as usual and nice contrast. Cheers . . . David

Hello Tan,
When I see you pictures I want to laugh at my friends who use to say that I bring my white puffy clouds along when I travel. You seem to be that champion. And like this one most of your pictures reflect a marvellous light, gorgeous colors and wonderful compositions. Best wishes - Izzet
