Photographer's Note
The Stellenbosch region is privvy to some of South Africa's most spectacular scenery. It also happens to produce pretty fine wine. This winding lane led to one of the many wineries I visited this day. Unfortunately the names and details of the places i visited that day were dissipated from my memory, approximately around the same time as leaving the third winery. Luckily I took this shot while still in a state capable of locating the shutter. If you are ever in South Africa and Cape Town, I highly recommend a visit to Stellensbosch.
I am not a very good judge of landscapes. For this reason I have avoided posting any on trek earth until now. So I am eager to hear your feedback on this one; whether you think it works and any ways to improve it. Thanks in advance.
Tech details:
Shot in Automatic program mode - landscape, so exposure probably around F8-F11 and 1/250-1/500th of a second.
Post processing minor level tweaking and border.

The colors the composition and textures are wonderful. I only wish the focus was more intense throughout.

Yes, Brendan, Stellenbosch is one of the most beautiful places in a very beautiful land! You captured this image well as far as composition is concerned, and I like the inclusion of the figure. Obviously South African wine and photography are a dubious mix when it comes to focus :) You judged this landscape well, though, so there's nothing wrong with your eye! I wonder about the colours... they are duller than what I used to see there. Let's have more landscapes from you!

This is a gorgeous picture. The composition is very good, but I like most the rich colors.

There is so many different types of curves with different colors that make a inviting pattern. Very good compo.

Colors and curved lines are very good in this image. The red area at the bottom contrasts nicely with the blue background. Maybe a little too much noise reduction (Neat image?).

Nice shot, beautiful colors and a phantastic landscape. One thing... the focus. The note us excellent.

Nice capture, Brendan. The colours look like the very old fashioned coloured in b/w pictures - beautiful. Very nice angle & composition. I agree with Michele that the focus is soft, a bit too soft IMHO. I know how Stellenbos whine tastes, and now I know how the place of birth looks like - formidabel. Thanx for sharing!

Good landscape. Great design, colour, perpective, lighting. Background is a little unsharp, or out of focus. Most landscapes are at their best just before sundown or just after sunrise, with the light raking across & emphasising texture.

Considering the sampling you were doing at the winery, it's pretty well in focus, LOL! The walking figure really makes this shot, I think, giving it a sense of proportion.
