Photographer's Note

A group of guys hanging around outside a small shop on the roadside, on the way to Coffee Bay on the Wild Coast of South Africa. The weather was really miserable for the few days that we were there, constant rain and overcast conditions.
"Joko" is a local and popular tea brand.

Hello Wanda,
It's nice to see you posting again. The red wall totally makes up for the dull sky and there are lots of other fine eye-catchers in this photo, including the five idle young men. I like the JOKO sign and the "open now" written on the closed door, plus the white arrow showing the entrance. These details have a fine graphic effect.
I also noticed that you had added me to your favorites. Thank you very much. I feel honored.

Welcome back. And with a very impressive, in-your-face street scene. Attitude oozes from the photograph, and I wonder how these guys reacted to you and your camera. I suspect they rather enjoyed the hard poses and direct, challenging expressions that you've captured. I echo Gert's comments about the graphism and colour. Good stuff.

Hi Wanda. I had the feeling that after Andre's reconnoitre an image will follow from you. Nice to have two top "people" photographers making an appearance. I wonder what the fellows talk about, plan and aim for- or more to the point, what can society offer them ( which begs the question about the quality of their education experience and subsequent prospects.) It's a photo which makes us try to read each stance and expression. Regards. Klaudio.
