Great eyes!, a photo from Uttar Pradesh, North

Photographer's Note

This photo was taken from my trip India. I was going from a friend in Delhi to Agra to see Taj Mahal. Unfortunately there were no air conditioned buses or trains so we took the regular bus. This girl was watching us behind strangely! We were white and different dressed (western travelers). Its very rare to see tourists to those buses cause they are dirty, they dont follow any time schedule, they just depart when a dozen of people is gathered in. It is a different experience, but also dirty and long! I hope you like it!

A perfect name for your image, those eyes are haunting and beautiful and your note adds perfect context to understand the shot. Reall nicely done on a very beautiful image.

Hi Nikos,

A young child, but those bags under the eyes suggest she hasn't led an easy young life. What is she photographed between here? Bus seats?

Perhaps a bit of oversharpening evident here, but a really wonderfully seen image - like the best documentary photography it has a clear message and an emotional tug.

THe child does not look exactly at the photographer what makes a strange feelings about this picture...

It's a nice portrait but like i said....strange ;)

Bonjour Nikos,
J'aime beaucoup les portraits, et j'adore celui ci de cette petite fille avec ses grands yeux remplis de curiosité.Apparemment elle n'a pas l'habitude de voir de touristes.Très beau cadrage, et la DOF est parfaite.
Très bien fait.
