After so much rain..., a photo from Evora, South

Photographer's Note

After a long rainy winter, the rain has been falling almost without stop for the last few weeks. For that reason, the Alqueva, the biggest artifficial lake in Europe and the biggest dam in Western Europe had to open its spillways a few days ago, as it was reaching its maximum.
I took this photo yesterday, but on the 1st april the spillways were releasing around 1600 cubic meters per second in the Guadiana River. The place became a big attraction these last days, for the Portuguese and also for the Spanish, as it's not that far from the border.

This long winter has certainly massively affected the land.
This is a spectacular shot!

This is an incredible view, almost hard to imagine. It's a great natural phenomenon and also a graphically very attractive picture. The enormous amounts of water make the people watching look incredibly small and vulnerable. You probably found the best possible POV.

Sensational capture here, of the awesome power of water ! The sense of movement and the amazing force and energy of that rushing water is very well conveyed here and perfectly captured. The high POV provides a breathtaking view and makes for a spectacular image. The picture is sharp and clear, I love the way it is presented. A very impressive shot of the excess water after a long rainy winter. You really can see and almost feel the masses of water flowing out into the valley. As long as it looks like this, it still is safe, but when you have these masses of water on the road as it often happens in Asia, then you just try not to be there. Fine sharpness and excellent POV. Well done
