Photographer's Note
Situated on Maghercloher Beach, Bunbeg, County Donegal since the 1970's, this is an old fishing boat that didn't make it through the rough seas. About an hour or so's drive from Letterkenny near Gweedore in the Gael-speaking region ("Gaeltacht") of Donegal.
For fans of Bono and/or CLANNAD (many thx Jean-Michel for picking up the error) this shipwreck was featured in the film-clip of the song "Once in A Lifetime", a duet by those artists.

Hi Lisa, I like the composition here, although might have been inclined to go with a wider angle, perhaps capturing more of the clouds and not cropping the top/front of the boat. There is some lens flare which could have been cloned out. Great idea nevertheless. Cheers, steve

Hello Lisa.
A very sharp and well exposed photo. Great vantage point for this shot, making good use of the curves, the angle of the bow, and the reflection. Having the low mountains behind and a pretty good sky adds to the picture. Marvellous detail on the timber of the hull and a beautiful light reflecting from it. Very well done. This deserves more recognition.

Andrew

Hello lisa,
Very nice picture, and good construction. One side ths ship and the other side, the space she will no more explore.
I like very much those picture of shipwreck. I will add this one in my theme.
Thank you for the musical reference. But it is not Enya singing with Bono, rather her sister Maire Brennan, singer of CLANNAD, the best irish group of the XX century.
Cheers from Brittany

Hello Lisa,
I quite agree with Andrew, the exposure is very good and the sharpness is nice too. I actually would have liked to a wider angle as well but this works well too, seems more like a portrait.
Thanks for sharing

Beautiful point of view and great light! I would have left some more space on the right side but the picture is great!

Gidday Lisa,
There is a beautiful 3D effect to this, I really like I could reach out and touch that boat. It makes the textures very palpable, and the light is excellent!
There is something sad about wrecked boats, things once of such importance, left to rot. I always wanted to get a shot like this, but never managed.
Cheers
Noel
