Photographer's Note

An endless railway track from Uyuni, Bolivia to Calama, Chile crossing one the salty lakes near Chiguana.

Chiguana is located on the Bolivian Altiplano between the Andes mountain range in the west of the Cordillera Occidental and the Cordillera de Lípez in the southeast.

The average annual temperature of the region is just under 8° C, the monthly values vary only slightly between 4 ° C in June / July and 10 ° C from December to February. The annual rainfall is only 70 mm, significant month of monthly rainfall of about 30 mm is falling only in the months of January and February, the rest of the year is almost no precipitation.

Superb POV and perspective. The eye wanders endlessly along the railway lines disapearing in the distance. No unnecessary details in this desert landscape disturbs the view. Truly a great picture.

Hello Achim - One really gets the feel of one of the world's wild and barren places from this strong composition. The curve of the line, which looks so elegant, draws us into the shot and to, what seems to be, the unending landscape. You chose the most classic angle but for my always the most beautiful.
What a depth image with the two point of the rails nice together on end of the rails.
A wonderful perspective and lovely landscape picture.

The length of the rail track is giving depth and perspective to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the rail track, of the sdalty lake and of the mountains. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

A great idea for a picture! You have cropped the picture perfectly and you avoided to make it too symmetrical, the tracks converge a bit to the side. A very fine picture!
