Photographer's Note

Seeing...outstretched from this POV on a hill, that lead the visitor to a traditional little town Efpalio,12 km of Nafpactos.
You can see in the background, the Mts of Peloponnisos with the new cable-stayed bridge Rio-Antirio, crossing the Gulf of Corinth near Patras, linking the town of Rio on the Peloponnese to Antirio on mainland Greece.
The shore in the foreground is called Monastiraki,or blue lake and the other in the depth Xiliadou.

Stunning location Danos, and beautifully captured. The cable stay bridge seems somehow out-of-place in this wonderfull land and sea.

This is a very nice landscape shot! Your composition and POV are great using the shoreline to lead the eye through the shot. I disagree with Paul, I think this shot has many nice areas of interest throughout. The bridge in the distance is a nice plus for the scene. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF.

The sea at Greece always blue or dark blue, this intensive of color make it different look in dark green-blue, good pov to show the broad landscape even to see a modern bridge in the depth, good shoot.

I read also the critique of previous writer, I am not agree with this writer, the picture is absolutely not bad and certainly far above the mean on TE.
F/11 1/90 with your super wide lens and your 5D gives really a very good picture, all can better, but with 200kb be all very difficult.

Before reading your note I thought this was the sea. It is stunning lake and mountain scenery and from your excellent POV we can see so much. Our eye follows the line of the shore from the bottom left corner. The light and colours are wonderful. Well done

Hello Danos,
deep blue sea in front of the majestic dark mounts and the right part illuminated by the leaving sun - to my taste very original and beautiful.
Original in terms of using horizontal an vertical dominant lines for building up a picture of three really different parts. (If somebody takes the time for careful observation will detect that cutting it at the main horizontal line two complete and well composed pictures could be produced but with very different atmosphere. And both of them are parts of the same place!)
Beautiful in terms of its capability for evoking the feeling in the viewer of being on a sacred place of our common European culture which is still today the home of a talented and vigorous people - thanks to the clever use of photographical means, including the so called "rules". The only reason of which is to help on the base of 3000 years of experience - thanks to the ancient Greek masters, by the way.
I have chattered so much only because I profoundly disagree with Paul - considering his third (?) start on TE I am afraid he could not find his own balance yet.
Hopefully it is not too late to give you the coordinates of the bridge: 38.32200/21.77125 that give an excellent satellite photo from the region. (Unfortunately I could not find the exact place on Google Earth where the photo was taken.)

Hi Danos,

A dream place to enjoy a vacation. The curves of the beach are assets to the composition. The point of view takes ous toward the mountains in the background and the bridge which is giving depth to the photos. The good luminosity is enhancing the different tints of colors of the scenery. have a nice day.

Magnificent landscape of the gulf of Corinth. What a sight! The quality is exceptional (neatness, colors, contaste). I like discovering the bridge (so small!) at the bottom.

I think that I would have no time to say hello to you in Athens on Monday because I spend not enough time between my arrival by plane and the departure of the ferry the afternoon for Paros. I take a coffee with Argyris ( ARGI) (we did not decide where fot the moment). Maybe a second coffee with you, if you work near Sintagma (or near Piraeus) both places where I have to go.
I do not propose to you on the way back because the ferry arrives in 4:30 ( AM) and I have to be at the airport at 9 am ( AM) except if you have insomnias!!!

The depth, colour and clarity of this shot is fantastic. I always love to climb to the top of a hill, if possible, and see the distant views. I look at this photograph and I believe I am there saying 'Look, I can see the bridge!!'

An impressive view, taken from a real vintage point and featuring an amazing clarity and stunning colours. I like how that inviting beach comes from the corner and leads the eye to the horizon, where we can devise a modern bridge. The bushes on the lower right corner balance nicely the hills on the other side of the sea. I find that lake on the middle fascinating.

Superb diagonal of the coast line, Danos. The depth is amazing and only after a while I found the bridge in the very distance at right BG. A bit vertigo as well - you must be in the middle of the bushes almost falling down. Great shot with impecable quality.

I see the broad view and am so impressed that I try to capture it with the camera; often I am disapointed.

You have succeeded where I often fail. First because of the magnificent sharpness throughout; the distant bridge both proves the excellence of your new lens and with its delicate detail provides a second reason for your success. It emphasizes the immense distance you have shown us. The color is wonderful; the beautiful shading of green to blue in the water contrasts well with the rosy sand. Very nice.

Cette photo est bien composée avec un paysage grandiose. J'aime la couleur de l'eau qui de bleue passe au vert à l'approche du rivage. J'ai gardé un souvenir ébloui de viaduc de Rion.

Kalimera Danos,
Since you mentioned and showed the Rio-Antirio bridge, i know the approximate location of this place - saw this from the air at a filght ti italia years back( posted a pic. of the bridge from above).
The coastline and the bay with the ridge on the far side, beautifully leading the viewer towards the bridge on the very far horizon.
