The parish church Sainte-Catherine d'Alexandrie des XIème XVIIIème siècles, romanesque style, in Gigondas.

The village of Gigondas is situated on the West DENTELLES DE MONTMIRAIL, Montmirail laces, of the massif des Baronnies, in ancient Comtat Venaissin, which is a historic region of the department of Vaucluse, between the Rhône, the Mont Ventoux and the Durance, including the cities of Cavaillon, Carpentras, Vaison-la-Romaine.

The three parallel crests of the Dentelles de Montmirail, sculptured by the erosion, stretch western in the northeast, up to the crest of Saint-Amand which peaks in 730 m.

The village of Gigondas is in closer of the Dentelles Sarrasines, saracen laces, which peak in the Rock of the Turk in 627 m.

The three crests of the Dentelles de Montmirail, offer 650 ways of climbing, and attract numerous amateurs.

GIGONDAS is a French commune, located in the Vaucluse departement of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur area, populated by 559 Gigondassiens in 2009, spread over 27.1 square kilometers, or 20.6 inhabitants per km².

Gigondas is quoted in the 10th century.

The commune of Gigondas produces wines in AOC, Protected Designation of Origin, with the designation Gigondas, Cru des Côtes du Rhône.

Salut Joël!
C'est une photo très belle et agréable!
Les détails architecturaux anciens sont merveilleux et ils sont entourés par des éléments naturels trés jolis!
La netteté, la gestion de la lumière, les couleurs, le pdv choisi, le format horizontal, l'encadrement gris & blanc et la compo sont excellents!

Bonjour Joel,

joli cadrage sur cette église sous une lumière et un ciel idéal (pas comme chez nous). Le premier plan de genêts rajoute une touche colorée à un POV déjà bien lumineux.

Bonjour Joël,

Gigondas, voilà un nom qui parle aux amateurs de vieilles pierres ;0) L'église que tu nous présentes est atypique (du moins, pour moi qui ne connais pas cette région), avec son clocher porche à deux niveaux et un 3ème clocher excentré, plus petit et portant l'horloge ! En revanche, je reste sceptique devant les deux sculptures, ou les deux voiles, plantés devant la façade... Bon cadrage et belle lumière, avec des genêts en fleurs qui nous ramènent quelques semaines en arrière !

Après mes jours de vacances pour Euskadi, je suis nouveau dans ces pages.
Très belle composition avec cette église unique et original, beau contraste de l'église avec les maisons en pierre à côté, l'abondance des forêts est un idéal et ces fleurs jaunes au premier plan, le point culminant.
Comme toujours la luminosité superbe, la netteté et la couleur.
