At Lamayuru gompa, the oldiest monastrey in Ladakh, little monks are listening the Buddhist scriptures being recited by old monk. One of the little monks, however, seemed pretty boring and looked the other side of the wall. Studying Buddhism should not be easy for 5 year old kid...

Hi JS,
Nice chiaroscuro effect, painterly type photo that I prefer very much. The gaze of the child quite intense and contrasts with his peer in the background. Beautiful intimate scene.

Lee, estupenda luz en perfecto encuadre. Unos hermosos ojos en su rostro inocente. El primer plano esta perfectamente separado del resto del cuadro lo que hace de esta fotografía un gran registro

I loved this photo the moment i saw it, so you have been lucky to get there before the calamity happened and guess you got back before all of it happened, Pascale had to cancel her trip. but the light here is beautiful caught, probably a 1/30 at 1600 iso..

i too visited the school at the thiksey monastery and was thrilled with the experience, very moving too

This one is just perfect, JS! the light, his pose and so sad expression, the colours and of course, the others in the blurred background. He seems so distant from everyone else!
