Photographer's Note

St Paul's Cathedral was built by Christopher Wren between 1675 and 1711. It is one of Europe's largest cathedrals and its dome is only exceeded in size by that of the St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The dome reaches a height of 111 meters and weights about 66,000 ton.

The church was the site of a number of important historic events such as the funeral of Admiral Nelson in 1806 and the funeral of Winston Churchill in 1965. Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer married here in 1981. Source: aviewoncities.com

J'aime beaucoup ce point de vue sur la cathédrale. Il est différent de ce que l'on voit normalement.On voit aussi très bien le pont. La gestion de la lumière est superbe. J'aime bien ce qui ressemble à un feu d'artifice sur la gauche.

Gosia, it's hard to take a bad picture of this beautiful building, but you've taken a great one. The clarity is fantastic, and the colors in the sky, reflected in the water along with the lights, are lovely. The London skyline is so interesting, with almost no tall buildings, until you get well out to the Docklands, except for St. Paul's and Parliament. It still has the feel of an old city. Nice photo.

This is a place I have always wanted to see for the size and grandeur of it, and this shot makes me want to see it all the more. A truly beautiful capture of this icon of London. The light on the dome (perfectly on thirds!!) makes it the main focus of the shot, but that does not take away from the other excellent elements, such as the amazing colors, the sky and the silky sheen to the water. Really nicely done, this is a beautiful image from London.

ennesima ora blu avente come soggetto Londra e come per le precedenti si può solo parlare che di una ottima realizzazione.
Anche in questa alla cura della composizione si somma una eccellente ripresa ricca di nitidezza e di luce dosata a perfezione.
Ormai in questo genere di fotografia sei tra le più brave.

"Blue Hour" w najlepszym wydaniu!
Blekit nieba pieknie kontrastuje tutaj ze sztucznym oswietleniem miasta.
Takze fani architektury tak jak ja maja tutaj sporo do podziwiania.
Faktycznie kopula Katedry pieknie sie prezentuje na tle nieba,ale przyznam ze mi sie podoba tez to co wokol-zwlaszcza ten most(czyzby znowu Calatrava?albo ja jestem przewrazliwiony i wszedzie widze jego prace:)

Hi Gosia,

You're capturing well this cityscape by a good angle and very excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see St Paul's Cathedral and the surrounding buildings which is visible to the opposite shore in River Thames in blue hour. It's also effective for light-up. And, the reflection projected to the river draws out a good atmosphere.

St Paul's Cathedral is one of my favourite buildings and I always enjoy admiring it from any angle. I think I had never seen it in the evening and find this blue hour picture of yours absolutely marvellous. The warmly lit waterfront, the ethereal bridge, the smooth water of the Thames are portrayed superbly, they look graphical and detailed and they make a fine context for the suggestive, illuminated St Paul's. The reflections and the clouds complement the frame with interest. The colours and the atmosphere are wonderful. Congratulations and thank you!

Absolutely beautiful night photo, everything is perfectly exposed and the color are brilliant and rich the soft texture on the river is mesmerizing and beautiful with reflected light and colors. Great weather you had there, when I was here is was just gray and misty and poor visibility. Couldn't see much across the river.

Beautiful night view of London's waterfront with the blue lighting highlights, the bridge leading into the rectangular buildings, then the ornate dome, very similar to the U.S. Capitol Building, a blend of Romanesque and Georgian.

Gosia, this is really stunning. An ideal vantage point and a perfect blue hour exposure, with the light from the dome shining brilliantly against the deep blue sky. I really enjoyed London and walked from Tower Bridge to Westminster Bridge so this brings back fond memories. A terrific blue hour shot spotlighting St Paul's cathedral dome which I did manage to see in the distance. Love the warm cold color contrasts added by the reddish yellow illumination and the reflections. Tfs!

Place I grew up, don't miss it really, you either love it or hate it.
It is steeped in beautiful architecture, and I think the Thames and surrounding areas around it are photogenic. I love the colours and St Pauls jumping out of the image.
