Photographer's Note
Floating in a balloon, with the Nile nearby...the sun beaming through the haze, reflecting off the river...only silence all around. Even your fellow balloon passengers don't say much--everyone just looks, and takes it all in.

on my monitor the sun looks like a devastating meteorite about to hit the earth... scary scene>:P... i would prefer cappadocia or myanmar but this must be a cool experience also... your compo is very nice with the triangle of the baloons and the sun...

What a wonderful pic, Ken! The light, the colors, the golden water in the Nile... all is perfect. Like a dream. Bravo!

One day i will do that! Definitely...
First i have to make a balloon ride over Cappadocia, then comes this one (Myanmar will come in my retirement though, LOL)
A daring use of counterlight. The lower ballon is silhouetted well enough to be recognized in front of the BG. I especially like the mist on the ground. Very impressive image.

Hello Ken,
This a fabulous shot — the silhouette of the hot air balloons in Luxor. So you were there on August 1, when I was also in Southern Europe, where the weather in Southern Europe may have been more oppressive than around Luxor and Karnak. The reflections in the water add effective highlight. And you are so right about the silence in one of these balloons.
Warm regards,
Bulent

HI Ken,
Though I don't like the frame and feel the pic lacks something to make it really outstanding, I find the pic really interesting with the replication of those balloons (the sun and its reflection can be assi, milated to balloons as well maybe) that leads us up in the clear burning sky.
Cheers,
Pris.
