Photographer's Note
"Still home to the St.Aubyn family, as well as a small community, this iconic rocky island is crowned by a medieval church and a castle - with the oldest buildings dating from the 12th century." [National Trust website.]
Looking down from the castle we can see the small harbour that serves the island. This stretch of sea is a part of Mount's Bay.
There is a causeway at low tide, which can be walked from the island to the mainland or vice versa. But if the causeway is covered by the sea, then it is a choice of swimming, or getting the boat across.
In the distance is the community of Marazion, and if you follow the road west you will reach the town of Penzance.

Hello Jean,
it looks as if we have both gone with a view from the top....
This shot works ever so well with both arms of the breakwater safely enfolding the little boats.
The colours are nicely retained and the whole scene sharp and clear.
Best regards Les.

Hello Jean,
I've read your note two or three times but, unfortunately, I'm afraid I had to do a bit of research to discover that your picture was actually taken from St. Michael's Mount! Otherwise, your note is very helpful and informative! Just that dunces like me had to work out the location!
This looks like a delightful place to visit and your photograph confirms that feeling. A very well planned and composed picture with lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. Did you walk or swim - or both?
