Photographer's Note
A nightshot from Sarakiniko beach, one of the most famous beaches of Milos and one of the most spectacular and "surreal" landscapes in Greece.
The whole area is covered by shining white rocks in strange shapes and formations, looking like giant sculptures, reminding us that nature is the greatest artist of all times.
The shutter was left open for more than 35 minutes (using "bulb" setting) in order to catch the movement of the stars. I also did, now and then, almost every two minutes some "lightpainting" on the rocks, with a small lantern I had with me. Hope you like the result, you 'll see some daily photos from the same magnificent place in the future.

Geia sou Hrakli,
Sarakiniko's white rocks must be extraordinary at night (and also when ther is the moon). You really made an exposure of 35 minutes? Then it was a night without meltemi!
I like this ballet of stars, it is very impressive!
Fantastic!
Bravo!

Hi Hercules
Wow, that's fantastic, so much movement in only 35 minutes, I'm amazed. I think I'll have to have a try at this myself next time we have a fine evening. I'm guessing that's the north pole star in the middle!
Great composition and POV, I really like this one.

Hi Hercules
An astonishing time exposure, clearly showing the circular star trails. I like the smal patch of yellow at right, that contrasts well against the predominant blue. Tfs!

Hola Parcerito!
Tremendo experimento.

Hi Hercules,
I really like that.
I planned to do it couple of times but when using Canon 450d I have noticed that if the time is longer than 5 seconds, the noise becomes too intense.
Great setting for this kind of shot. Congratulations, the effect is spectacular,

Hi Hercules,
a masterpiece, well planned. Most photographers would have problems already finding the polar star, the center of this gigantic wheel..

Hola Hercules:

Hi Hercules,
when I registered TE, very similar long exposure shot impressed me too much. and today, I feel the same feeling. dreamy, super natural shot. You waited more than 35 minutes with several lighting actions...this patient and work deserve a great respect.

Hello Hercules, This is a wonderful picture. How did you do it ? In one exposition of 2133 secs or combining more pictures of shorter exposition to decrease the noise ? Great colors, especially the warm tone fit well to the dark bluue sky. Perferctly done, that the warm illumination is not overexposed. Well done, Kind regards, Michael

Pretty awesome capture and patience from you. I guess your exposure is little over 30 minutes ? for this the exposure came out fantastic. the circular effect of the stars and the blue shades came out very good. I should try this one.
