Photographer's Note
change of scene for this one today.
Here we are in the city of Neuchâtel, capital of the canton with the same name, sandwiched between the lake Neuchâtel and the Jura mountains in north-western Switzerland. This tower forms part of the château where today cantonal gouvernement is housed. The oldest foundations dates back to roman times, while the majority of todays construction dates from the 1380ties.

Great, crisp shot, Daniel. The texture and colors of the walls really leap out. There's a tiny bit of a halo effect around it - probably the result of correcting shadows - but the vibrance it brings to the building is beautiful. Thanks for the shot and the informative note.

This is an excellent shot. Sharp and clear. The colours are amply saturated. The contrast is very well balanced. The colour of the stone bricks, the fortifications, and the greenery is fabulously represented.
The positioning of the shot is well thought out - with the subject cobering the left hand diagonal. The colour of the sky is impressive - with the streaks of white clouds enveloping the tower.
Thanks for sharing this beauty !

Hi!
I like the place, and I like most of your image.
But I really don't like the halo all along the transition zone between the sky and the building/tree, which is a telltale sign a not-so-well mastered HDR or of extensive post-production.
Oh, and as a Neuchâtelois historian, I must also tell that what we see here is mainly 19th century, after the Viollet-Leduc school of architects decided to give its present look to both the castle and the church...

Yassou Daniel, now this is a beautiful shot of Neuchâtel with a great highlight of this ancient tower. The rusty stones so greatly constructed could speak for themselves and tell all about their history background!Lovely picture!Have a great weekend!Eleni
