Photographer's Note
Let’s start the New Year with one last festive photo from Fifth Avenue. :-)
This is Pulitzer Fountain, located just across the street from the southern entrance to Central Park. The famous Plaza Hotel it also located to the right. In the background is the upscale department store Bergdorf Goodman. The fountain is named after newspaper publisher Joseph Pulitzer, who died in 1911 and left $50,000 for its creation. It was unveiled in 1916.
The bronze statue on top is Pomona, the goddess of abundance, holding a basket of fruit. As you can see, there are also several large, colorful ornaments in front of the fountain. It’s a popular spot for tourists to stop and take photos, although there were only a few people when I walked by.
In the WS are two more views.
Happy New Year everyone! :-)

A cracking urban image full of festive mood! It's vibrant with great colours obviously the view point works the way that the focus is on the holiday makers. It's lively, lots to look as they appear enjoying the moment. Above all let's hope 2021 is so much better and healthier to all of us, Happy New year. Well done capture

Hello Brenda,
Three very nice photos. The combination of art, colors and people makes this the obvious choice for main upload. It's well cropped and the people helped you to a nicely balanced composition. The first WS has a very good depth and the second one has beautiful colors.
I wish you all the best for the new year.

Hi Brenda,I see a great desire to celebrate despite the pandemic, decorations everywhere, colorful and original like the candy canes in the WS, 3 different and beautiful photos that bring us back to the Christmas atmosphere that this year we experienced in an unforgettable way, unfortunately. Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hello Brenda,
There are some very beautiful Christmas decorations to be found in NY and yet, I bet you have never ever seem the streets so devoid of people! For you, it meant ease of photography.
Your main shot not only shows the fountain and the decorations but the attractive tiles and stone slabs.
I had never heard of Pomona before.
I referenced her to learn she was a Roman goddess, without a Greek equivalent! Don't you find it interesting how we can trace modern features to influences that are millennia old!
All the very best for a safer, happier New Year,
Bev :-)

Hi Brenda
Happy New Year to you too! Very suitable photo for the occasion. Great timing for the people, surprised no one is taking selfies. :-) I also like the background with the graphic pattern of windows.
Love the huge baubles, I'm glad you included a closeup in the WS.
Best wishes
Kasia

Hello Brenda,
I must have seen this fountain on the southeast corner of Central Park, but I don't immediately remember.
I have the impression that it was cold, but that the winter that day was not too bad. Your three photos show the beautiful Christmas decorations in very clear images.
Original with the giant Christmas balls. I would like to taste the candy canes :)
Best regards, Paul

Hi Brenda
The fountain acts as a good focal point. I like the repetition of the decorated spheres. Great sharpness and the people add scale. A safe and happy New Year to you & yours!

Hi Brenda,
Nice capture of city life during Christmas and in the time of Covid. The decor and the lights conveys that life seems to be rather normal and that life goes on.
My best wishes to you this New Year!
Kind regards,

Hello Brenda,
Your beautiful photo clearly shows that there are few tourists in NY at the moment.
The developments surrounding Covid give little hope for a quick change. The uncertainty created by Mr T. also requires caution.
Lars and I therefore take into account that we have to choose a route in Europe again this year, but even then there is still a lot to improve.
Excellent presentation
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Hi Brenda.
Very nice photo with all these luminous ornaments and balls, which is a beautiful Christmas touch, people are enjoying the party atmosphere, but we must not forget the Coronavirus precautions.
The snow in Madrid is causing big problems because after the snowfall we have temperatures of -10º C, which is why everything is frozen and the trees of the city have thousands damaged.
Good point of view, sharpness, luminosity and color.
A very nice photo. I like it.
You have a good day.
Best regards.
Luis.
