Photographer's Note
I wondered what has happened here today, at this place, at this moment there is absolutely no one in the park. This is Jardin du Luxembourg situated in the centre of Paris. The ground is full of fallen leaves but the chairs and the tables are totally empty. Is it the weather, which has kept people away from the park? But I liked too the way I saw the park. I wanted to sit at one of the tables here, but I knew that I would not be served well. The out-side café is closed for the rest of the year. But still the park was full of charm. I felt as though I had monopolised the beauty of the park. The empty park was full of mood, the mood kept me here for a brief moment.
The overall blue tone has been adjusted, please see the result in WS space. Thank you for the suggestion.

Bonjour Nobu
Une très belle vue de ce jardin du Luxembourg avec ces tables vertes.J'aime beaucoup ce rendu de teintes douces.Le lieu semble déserté et c'est qui donne une bonne touche à cette image.

This is a fine and a bit unusual composition. The tables and chairs, along with the trees, form a fine pattern of green and grey among the yellow/red leaves on the ground. The empty cafe is a slightly sad sight, but also rather poetic.

bonsoir Nobu
une belle compo de cette scène d'automne où les rangées de chaises jouent bien leur rôle pour attirer l'oeil
je trouve quand même une dominante bleue parasite, je me demande si l'image ne mériterait pas un petit réajustement de la balance des blancs
Bien amicalement

Hello Nobu,
Perhaps they cleaned all the tables and the chairs before they take everything inside for the winter? Anyway, it's a great view, a open air café with a large red-brown carpet.
Un unusual sight but a vey nice autumn picture.

What an interesting scene you have found in this beautiful park located in the centre of Paris. The view is absolutely rare and outstanding without people there. Creative shot with great submitted note as always!:) TFS.

Bonjour Nobu,

Buona serata

Hello Nobu,
Indeed, there is a surreal desolation that characterizes the park in November of 2005. I wonder what it is like in this park now. I am always amused by snunney (stephen) and papagolf21 (philippe) who who also find desolated areas in France. What happens to the population, but your photo was taken in Paris. With the tables present, I imagine there is a restaurant or two, and servers around.
Warm regards, Nobu.

Hello Nobu - Repeating patterns of trees, tables and chairs and benches. A well seen and interesting shot. I actually prefer the 'blue' image. It packs more punch and adds to the strange atmosphere created by the absence of people. Kind regards Rosemary

Great sight on the lovely forest, with an abundence of fallen leaves on ground, and the light-green chairs in a meticulous order.

I like it very much, for all of the reasons others have mentioned. I agree with Rosemary about the blue - I think it adds to the surrealistic atmosphere - perhaps not surrealism but those early 20th century fauvist paintings in which blue was often a pervasive color! I also like the leaning trees on the left...
To my mind, an amorous couple would break the mood...
Well done!

Hello dear Nobu-san
Yes the adjustment of the blue tone definitely brings out more realistic colours...I am judging by the fallen leaves with autumnal hues. The green chairs & tables create a fine contrast & the deep perspective works well. Well framed by the trees. A small issue about the trees I guess, they still have the bluish tones. Pity there's not a soul in sight...without a life form, this picture takes a chilly wintry feel
Best Regards Nobu-san & have a great week ahead!

Interesting green chairs and tables in the middle of the woods, it must be very nice to eat something there. The composition is good, and the trunks of the trees create an interesitng pattern, good work, congratulations!

Hello Nobu,
I have seen how this image reduces to basic geometry.
We have horizontal lines, vertical lines, squares, triangles
and circles.
The chairs and tables funnel back to a sort of
vanishing point in the left upper corner. Collectively,
they form an isosceles triangle with the base being the
three round tables and the tip being the vanishing point.
Notice how after the first row of tables and chairs, what
predominates are those bold horizontal lines of the chair backs, as we go
back toward the vanishing point those horizontals become more and more
compressed and abstract. We don't see chair backs, we see lines.
This is balanced beautifully by all the vertical
trees to the right. And there is an echo of the horizontal
lines seen in the benches amoungst the trees.
The circular tables in the front row, especially the one in the
middle are a nice counterpoint to all the strong verticals and
horizontals. There is something magical about that middle table like
invisible people are sitting there. That table almost looks like it has a
very gentle spot light on it. I consider it the focal point of this
picture. And the gentle shadows and reflections on the table tops, though
subtle, are quite lovely.
On a cultural note, one point I find amazing is that those
tables and chairs are not chained down. You have to admire the
enormous civility of the French that these tables and chairs can be
left unmolested in a public place. If this were NYC, this image would
not be so intriguing as all the furniture would have been stolen or
covered in graffiti by now. I love the French for this, this is how
it should be.
Have a nice weekend.

Salut mon cher Nobu-San
How lucky you were to have this beautiful place all to yourself. I think I recgnise it from some of your other photos. Again, the Autumnal colours are magical and contrast so beautifully with the green of the benches and tables. Again a very atmospheric and typically French scene.

Olá Nobu,
A good picture very well composed, with clarity and quality.Personally I like the photography workshop.
Good POV and composition of autumn, but the colors somewhat saturated, but that it's common in many of their shots. It must be some editing tool that you should use.
Cumprimentos,
Filipe
