Photographer's Note
This is a view of a part of the Louvre where architect I.M. Pei (born April 26, 1917) and his project team have (re) created a beautifully designed sculpture garden, Jardin du Carrousel. Since 1964, the Carrousel garden has been decorated with twenty statues by the French sculptor Aristide Maillol (December 8, 1861 – September 27, 1944 French Catalan sculptor and painter.) This part of the Louvre situated in between Napoleon court and the Tuileries Garden is almost always well celebrated with hedges, trees and the sculptures. I used to like this rather quiet part of the garden. Beginning in the springtime, all the way through the summer and the autumn season, the garden always displays a harmoniously balanced fusion of natural elements and man made objects. However in December, when the last leaf falls from a tree, we suddenly become aware of the exposed tree branches and the green bronze statues. In December when the winter season comes knocking at our door, all the living elements as well as man-made objects come to a period of rest, until the next arrival of the spring. It is also a very beautiful way to realize the passing of time, for all the elements living and non-living, it is now a time to rest.

Hello Nobu,
Another beauty, I see.
Your PN is a perfect match and makes me think of the poem, Turn Turn Turn. Yes, time to rest.
I find particularly beautiful the leaves at our feet and the golden color of the landing where the statue sits...and the teal and gold of the Louvre itself.
I think you show us Paris in a way that is fresh and new. You also show us that in fact, deep down, you are actually a Parisian currently exiled in Japan. The intimacy with which you photograph this City is uncanny.
Thank you for this fine capture.
With my compliments, have a good week.

Hello Nobu,
A fine composition of all the steps leading up to the buildings and the trees in front of them. The autumn leaves at the bottom are a fine detail.

hi nobu, a beautifully simple composition. the colours are fantastic. the repeating patterns of the horizontal steps and then the verticla trees works very well. i think this picture would also work equally well with just the leaves and the steps.

Hello Nobu,
The steps lead one's eyes gently up to the park where the bronze statue sits in contemplation. The lines are clean and neat, and the colors evocative of the season. I think the vertical format you've chosen is ideal for this shot. The few leaves in the lower step adding a subtle additional focal point to the statue itself. I am a fan of IM Pei. The East Wing of the National Gallery in Washington features the clean lines, so characteristic of his monumental work. Here is a favorite scene.
Warm regards, Nobu.

Bonsoir Nobu,
Cette composition verticale impressionne par la place laissée à l'escalier qui prend une position de premier pan. Le pavillon du Louvre rappelle par sa couleur les feuilles d'automne. La note est toujours aussi poétique et intéressante, presque un poème.

Hello Nobu,
nice the view of the stairs as lead-in the eye on Louvre. The Winter scenery with the leafless trees and their leafs to be spread on the foreground makes the scene beautiful.
In my mind this scene would was in horizontal frame with the building on the backdrop to was the main theme as from the stairs to lead-in the glance to it.

Fine paris corner taken, Nobu, and divided 2 subjects.
I like the leaves in orange tone scattered at foot of the steps, and there is a good view on naked trees, statue and edifice in yellow.
Nice premeditated.

un'ottima scelta compositiva con le foglie secche in FG e la scale che sale in direzione dell'edificio di fondo.
perfetta l'inclusione dgli alberi che definiscono bene la scena.

Ciao dear Nobu,
I agree with your choice of bookmark format for this picture characterized by two well distinct elements. Right, you have given great space to the staircase, that undoubtedly offers an interesting visual effect. Above the staircase we find the second element, compound with a pleasing symmetry and that shows us the architecture of the Louvre enriched by statues. The naked trees make us understand the winter season. As always a good photo accompanied by interesting and pleasant notes. I particularly liked the last sentence, about the rest of the time. It's always very nice to admire your works, congratulations!
Ciao, have a nice evening!

Salut mon cher Nobu
I apoligise for having neglected your beautiful gallery for the last few photos. When people write me critiques, I feel obliged to reciprocate and I am way behind. Anyway, I hope that life is going well for you. I think of you often, and your Dad who is almost twins with mine. I ate a beautiful Japanese meal last weekend which made me think of my friend Nobu. I particularly like Beef Tataki which is very similar to the Italian dish of Beef Carpaccio. But to your lovely photo, well-chosen in the bookmark format, with ethereal Autumn colours and wonderful graphism created by the stairs. The few fallen leaves are a nice touch, adding another element to this already beautiful phoot. I wish you a beautiful weekend and thank you for sharing.
Bonne amities
