Photographer's Note
The people of Paris are very imaginative and are very creative. They decorated the town hall in the way I have presented; they also created a little forest in front of it, a forest of Christmas trees. I am not particularly religious but I accept the idea that this is a season for giving. I liked the forest. From here I had a very nice view of the town hall. The intensity of the illumination was getting stronger by the minute. The night was falling around me and it was getting very cold. But the illumination kept me here; I liked the tiny forest and I liked the ambience it created for everyone. A happy season’s greetings to you all from the Parisian forest.

Hello Nobu,
A sight that you can not always have: the town hall viewed through a forest.
Very beautiful with the tree decorations in the same colour as the sky. And the yellow facade shines wonderfully!
Best regards, Paul

ciao Nobu,

Hello Nobu,
A lovely image of the town hall with fantastic yellow colors and seen through the trees. The colors and sharpness are superb. The blue sky makes a nice color contrast against the yellow facade.

Ciao mon cher Nobuccio-san
I gather this was hand-held? It is extremely sharp despite the falling light. The Blue Hour is incandescent, as is the Town Hall. The trees provide a beautiful natural frame for us, guiding the eye towards the main subject of your photo and also giving us a little atmosphere of mystery.
Thanks for sharing and I wish you a beautiful Sunday with your bowl of coffee

A wonderful idea to peek out from the forest! The blue ornaments harmonize nicely with the sky - last year, the ornaments were red, the effect was not the same. It never ceases to amaze me, the creativity in France of all sorts of things - this little forest is just one of the delightful ideas. Thank you for showing us!

Hello Nobu,
The photo is beautifully composed, with your characteristic mastery of light management. Here the details of the cobblestone have their place. They help to create depth-of-field. I agree with you wholeheartedly that the French (just like the Italians) have style and verve — they are creative and imaginative. (And I agree with you on the religion. I am very much more vocal, but this is not to forum to vent those feelings.)
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hi Nobu
Une heure bien choisie, j'aime le contraste du jaune du batiment avec le bleu du ciel, les garniture sur les sapins qui font un très joli encadrement sur le batiment, très belle réalisation
Agréable journée

Hello Nobu,
one more nice shot taken thought out the side Christmas trees as lead-in the eyes of the floodlight Town hall of the city.I like the excellent POV with the narrow alley between the trees to create depth in the image.

Ciao dear Nobu,
to show to be a good photographer must also show that it can choose a good POV, and in this beautiful image you have shown to be an excellent photographer. The two Christmas trees create a pleasant frame to the Palace illuminated. I like the idea that you've had and especially the way in which you have captured this photo. The quality is very good, the sharpness is perfect, so to be able to see that the photo was taken at 5:05 pm
Sincere congratulations for having perfectly captured the Christmas atmosphere of Paris! BRAVO!
Ciao, my friend, have a nice Tuesday!

Hi Nobu,
The Christmas tradition may indeed seem strange, but it is necessary, and continues as it is enjoyable for adults and children. It marks an important moment in the year, and it also became important for trade throughout the country ... Excellent composition and nice to see significant. Bravo.
Have a nice day

Dear Nobu,
To start with the conclusion first, this image is majestic!
As I get older, each year passes faster and it seems Christmas rolls around more quickly. I have become jaded as I tire of the same decorations, the same melodies and the same commercialism.
It is very rare that I can conjure up those feelings of magic I had as a child at this time of year. And here I see this magical image of yours which transports me back to those feelings of joy, beauty and kindness. There is a brightness, light, and clarity to this image that lifts the spirit.
Not only do the French have creativity, they have taste, which means this tableau is just perfect, not too gaudy, not too sentimental, not too religious. I am so glad that you saw this moment, captured it and shared it with us. From the lovely maze of cobblestones, to the silvery blue bows, to the gorgeous lighting on the Mare, you have composed it perfectly and the time of day couldn't have been better choosen. I love the one blurred branch in the FG and the clarity of the clock in the BG. I am so pleased that this image has made its debut as 2004 seems like a long time ago. :)
With my kindest wishes for a grace filled holiday season to you, Nobu.
Many thanks and peace on Earth.
Yana
P.S. Sara says the bows were red last year. Can we send you there next year to make another photo, please?! :)

Dear Nobu-san,
what a nice scene you captured with your camera! I like the smart composition in which the trees look like a natural framing for the brightly lit yellow building :)
This scene conveys a slightly nostalgic mood.
I should say that, perhaps, no matter how religious (or of what confession) people may be, they are always happy to have a holiday time... to take a little rest, to relax, to feel joy, and to look forward for a little miracle (which is, perhaps, subconsciously, associated in our minds with Christmas and New Year holidays!)
thank you for presenting us such a nice view!
warm regards,
and a Happy Holidays Time to you!
Elena
