Photographer's Note
Near Aurora cruiser, one can meet Vladimir Ilyich Lenin. After more than 100 years of the October Revolution, he looks quite fine.:) As usual, he wears a famous flat cloth cap. He bought this cap in Stockholm, earlier he wore a stylish black homburg. In changing his hat, he was making a clear political statement. The cap he adopted was, and remains, strongly associated with the working class in Europe, the Americas, and even Asia. On many monuments, he has this cap, on the head or in the hand. But once happened, that they unveiled a monument in Leningrad, and the astonished viewers saw that he had two caps, one in hand and another on the head. :).

Hello Malgo,
An excellent portrait of Lenin in the city which used to have his name as well. His red tie stands out well. Fine lighting and natural colours too.

Hello Malgo
I hope this man is a bit friendlier than the real Lenin, who for a good reason has disappeared from the streets and certainly hadn’t posed so nicely for your camera.
Excellent work.
Have a good Sunday, groet Rob

Hello Malgo,
A nicely different kind of portrait. How much did you have to pay him? I suppose he wasn't posing just for fun. I knew that Lenin bought a suit at the PUB department store at Hötorget (where Greta Garbo later worked), but I didn't know he got the cap too in Stockholm. It's a well taken photo, an amusing nothing special, and an interesting note.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Malgo
Eternal Lenin, still in life though the news told us he was dead. But he is now smiling, and maybe asking for some "roubles" to be taken in picture.
Cheers

Hello Malgo,
Not forbidden photographing the old navy boat.
Your main picture with the man with red tie, real old red Russian.
An excellent contrast picture too.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice Sunday,
John.

Hello Malgo,
Ill weeds grow apace :)
Did you explain him how the modern Russia looks like?
He would probably burst into tears.
Excellent sharp capture.
Didn't anyone ask if you had permission to photograph the Aurora Cruiser?
Best regards, Paul

Hi Malgo
All the statues I have seen have Lenin looking glum and dour, but this man is smiling, probably as it's good for business. For a short time St Petersburg was named Leningrad, but once the truth got out just what a conniving con artist and mass murderer he was, his popularity plummeted. Tfs!

Dear Malgo,
As far he makes a living on entertaining tourist instead of being involved in politics and trying to reform society according to his views, I don't have any problem with him. :) Joking apart, nice observation and realization.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

This photo is quite intriguing. You wonder : Is it a statue ? or a real person ? But then I realised he was one of these live statues that we see in all big cities nowadays !
I agree with Jorge about the evil look in the face of real Lenin, whereas this guy looks quite good-natured.$A great shot !

Hello Malgo,
Nice shot of this Lenin impersonator. I think he is more cheerful than the Lenin himself. 👍🏻👍🏻
