Photographer's Note
This is the 57-year old grandpa I mentioned in my last post. I met him first while passing his yurt when I was hiking, but he and his grandchildren was busy watching the horses. I was just watching them for a little while as they were trying to put horseshoes on the horses (I assume). I got some flashbacks to old TV series about the wild west as I was watching Mr. Kumuz making sure the horses stayed calm.
The following day I hiked with some Irishmen and we passed the same yurt. This time they invited us in for fermented horsemilk, or kumuz. Hence the nickname I gave this man. I can't say I enjoyed the drink, but luckily I had my friends by my side. And Irishmen drink anything, even this. After that, we had time to play some football outside the yurt with the kids and I was showing photos from the day before.

The soft focus and the beautiful color serve to make this horse and rider stand out well from the background. It makes a nice documentary shot. One small point, the center of the frame is usually the weakest place to place the main image, if it had been placed a little to the right, it would have had even more dramatic effect. However, it is a fine shot. Regards Kevin
