Trekking in Talesh, a photo from Gilan, West

Photographer's Note

This photo was taken last July when we were trekking in western parts of caspian sea with three other friends. For getting to these highlands you have to get on the pick ups which take goods up to this region for the few people living up there as there's no road up there. The name of the city which you have to get the transportation is Hashtpar which is 8 hours from Tehran by bus.
This region is full of small lakes and flowers from June to September.

Hi!

What a great start!

If today TE was a shop and I wanted to buy a postcard, I'd probably choose this one! It's so impresive, having people on the photo you can see the scale of the rocks and the cloud coming into the valley!

Good morning Azadeh!!!

I am glad to discover your pictures of Iran and I hope to see more in the future! The composition is good here, with the trio well placed in the frame and the inviting curves of the landscape that leads our look to the dramatic rocks behind. With the fog, the mood is very special and the vivacity of colors adds to the surreal effect. That's exactly how I can imagine the way to the Alamut of Hassan Ibn-al-Sabbah! :) Bravo!

Thank you for your trekking invitation, in the Iran mountains! I see that your rucksacks are big, it means you have to carry a tent plus the goods to live in autarcy for some days.

By the way, have you ever tried to make a panorama? If not I'd suggest you to try. It's specially useful to show the views in such placeses like this one.

Hello Azadeh, and welcome to TE.
I like this wild scenary, well composed with the three people on the right an the mountain at the other side.
I think that colours are just a bit too saturated. be careful with saturation/contrast etc. they are important tools, sometimes very necessary, but alway use them with judice. It is easy, at the beginning, to exceed with strong colours and postproduction tricks, but the you realize that a good compromise is the bestsolution. here on TE many people use strong effects. I do not like them. Postproduction is mandatory in digital photography, but it must not be the first thing that you notice in a photo.
I wait for more photos from your fantastic country.

Another good photo from you Azadeh. Looks like you like diagonal lines! I love the colours and the clouds like playing a game with the floor. The people in the left side give a good sense of how big the mountain is.

I like your style, My compliments for the incredibly beautiful landscape with lovely low hanging cloud
A wonderful perspective and great depth with nice curve on the horizon. I love the shadows and shapes it created and the climbers add balance and scale, and a good sense of distance. Hi Azadeh,

Amazingly beautiful scenery, capture in a very excellent photograph! The green meadow reminds me of valleys in the Himalayas, while the stone formations behind are very different and interesting.

One very good aspect of this photograph is the inclusion of people - it adds an essential component of scale, without distracting the viewer from the scenery.

I only wish this conflict between Iran and the US would end so that we travelers could relish the magnificent sights of your country!

all your photos looks very good but i start with this one because of the magnificent landscape. I like the composition with the three people in the left, it is also crisp and clear but the colors are a little bit oversaturated. The overall impression is good and i really would like to visit your beautiful country in the future, Tfs !
