Photographer's Note
Throughout history, tanning has seen several fluctuations in popularity. In early civilizations with a class system, social distinctions existed between those of tanned complexion and those without. Those who often spent long hours working in the sun were often grouped together as lower class.
In the 1940’s, women’s magazines started using advertisements that encouraged sun bathing. The bikini made its appearance in 1946 (Louis Reard was the French designer who introduced the bikini). In the 1950’s, an ever-growing trend was to use baby oil as a method to tan more quickly.
According to several studies, both men and women view a tanned body as more healthy than a pale body.
However, exposure to direct sunlight is considered potentially harmful to a person's health.

Hi Daniel
May I add, that in the west tanned female or male person is considered successful while in Asia especially the Far East and South East Asia you have to have a white skin tone. Beauty and success are different depending the ethnic background.
First I thought that your shot is upside down but then I said myself you like to present your picture this way, that's your choice. Nonetheless its a beautiful shot with great DOF, sharpness and vivid colors. well done
Best regards

first: I like this particular POV giving a great pleasant depth to the composition.
second: note is pretty funny....you are talking about tanning while providing us with a great example....
third: she's really gorgeous. ok I cannot see her face...but her body.....woww...
I have been told Israeli girls are particularly pretty....this is an excellent proof!

Daniel,
I hope it will not sound too harsh: I can't say I really like this shot. I do not find the composition well balanced or the colors specially attractive. And I am not a man to become ecstatic in front of the woman's body. But the POV is really original and I wonder where from you took the picture.
Best regards

Hi Daniel
Another high POV picture, which looks very attractive. The rotation makes this quite an original. Framing is good & the sharpness and contrasts as well. Would love to see more of your high POV shots!

Hello Daniel,
It is often said that a picture of water should include a red item to become interesting. It seems the same thing could be said about sandy beaches. Some my find the bikini very interesting, but I really must say that it's the red towel, and the pattern formed by its wrinkles, that gives this picture its special qualities. The off-centre position is also very cleverly chosen. The 180 degrees twist is as amusing as ever, but this photo would have done well even without that.

Gert
