Photographer's Note
This is a photo of Kata Tjuta viewed from Uluru one morning. Aboriginal legend has it that Wanambi, the creation serpent lives on top of Kata Tjuta during the Dry Season.

Hi Lisa
What do you know, we're neighbours.
Yes, I've come back to the daily upload/critique writing ritual. Hope some others will follow before the site expires.
Anyway, nice photo, with pastel shades of the famous rock formation in the distance. Hope you don't mind my saying this, but the dimensions of the photo don't allow it to be seen in full even on 24" screens - I always tell people to keep it to 800 vertical pixels.
Regards,
Andrew

Ciao Lisuccia
che colori caldi, proprio come piacciono a me.

Ciao Lisa,
I like very much the composition and the use of this curious spindly tree to frame the background mountains. Beautiful warm lights and colours. Superb depth. Enjoy your Sunday evening.

Hello Lisa
I guess you went the few miles to Kata Tjuta soon after this, and will soon be showing us more stunning images of these fabled rock formations. The equivalent of churches? Well managed sky, and the dead tree, while taking centre stage for the purposes of composition, is still secondary to those brooding hills on the horizon. No longer the Olgas...

Will

Hey Lisa
Beautiful scenery with the mountain the background and rather ominous looking tree to beckon us in .It does look rather like a tree from a horror movie! The light you caught here is superb too.
I meant to say by the way , sorry for slow responses online . My papa had been very unwell for a couple of months now and he had been in hospital the past couple of weeks while the doctors try to figure out what is wrong, so I'm not getting much time online these days .
I hope you're well and I'm wishing you the best of everything from this soggy little island
Cheers

Ciao Lisa,
I love how you created this image. You look for the right tree ans after you looked for the perfect background and you founded it. The light is great.
Have a nice day.

Ciao cara Lisa,
The note on your previous photograph puts this photograph in perfect context. And how wonderful that so many Aboriginal legends survive about this place - let's hope that they survive for a long time to come. I'd love to hear more about your travels in Northern Territory.
A spectacular photograph of a spectacular landscape, the distant Kata Tjuta seen through the haze on the horizon and contrasting well with the dry and scorched vegetation and earth in the foreground.
A beautiful and well composed photograph with glorious light and colours and spectacular depth of field.
Fabulous!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello dear Lisa,
I like very much this distant view of Kata Tjuta, with all the fascinating, warmly lit area between the vantage point and the iconic land formation. The relics of the dry tree in the foreground are very intriguing, making up a humble but respectable natural monument. I love the depth, the textures and the fresh morning light that make this area both suggestive and inviting. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely week,
Ourania

Hello Lisa,
your low view point has worked ever so well with the spindly tree creating not only FG interest but also a fine frame for the picture.
The light is sublime and of course it`s pin sharp from front to back.
I might have sacrificed a bit at the bottom of the picture just to get all of the tree in, but that`s being ultra picky.
Hope you and K are enjoying the Spring weather.
Kindest wishes Les and G.x

Ciao Lisa,
beautiful Australian landscape. I like the light and colors, although there is plenty of vegetation around it feels quite dry and the colors resemble European autumn.
Nice composition with the dried tree in the foreground and the huge rocks on the horizon. The original vertical frame works great here.
Excellent work,
M

Ciao Cara Lisa,
Just the presence of the dead tree, in the f/g, adds a sense of spirituality to the scene. It is perfectly placed for compositional strength, dwarfing everything around by perspective.
I really like this!
It is artie, dramatic, symbolic and thought provoking, all at the same time.
Thank you for sharing this,
Bev :-)

Hi Lisa. I love the outback and I love the Uluru National Park. Last time I was there, i remember I stayed at a hotel, called The Lost Camel, very atmospheric. The challenge is always to get an image, different from the images that everyone gets here, and you have done that magnificently You have built your composition around that lovely, twisted tree stump, that looks so dramatic, almost like a crucifix. The bush land around it is well shown as is the lovely rock formation in the background. One small point, it seems to me to have a slight yellow color cast. You may well have chosen that deliberately, but I like it even more, with the color pushed back into a slightly cooler register. Anyway, It's a great sho. I wish I had taken it. Regards Kevin
