Photographer's Note

This week Craig and I managed to make it to the Tulip Festival in Agassiz, BC. It's about an hour and a half drive from Vancouver. The festival was an affordable experience packed full of pleasure for the senses. The air was full of a sweet smell, and there were amazing colours too see as well. Here is one of my many shots I took there. Unfortunately it was an overcast, brightly lit day, so I couldn't include a mountain view. But overall I rate this experience high.

colorful explosion of spring in the tulip fields. I like your perspective and the good depth. Fine graphical effect with the differently colored tulips. This festival must have been a feast for the eyes, thanks for sharing.

Wonderful shades of red, pink and rose. The stripes formed are beautiful. All these colors remind me of the little girl in my wife's womb - and the feminine universe I'm about to discover. Thanks for sharing and congratulations!

how to resist to take a picture when you have so many vivid colors in front of you! Great; I would have cropped the mountains in the back (white areas are too eye catching!).

first i thought it is a picture from the Netherlands, but then i realised the mountains in the background, and there a no mountains in Holland;-)
I like your composition with the different coloured stripes. The picture has a fine depth and sharpness. TFS

I'm so glad you got out to the tulip fields and once again I apologize for cancelling the TE meet. How can we argue against this riot of colour? Nicely done with Mt Cheam and the lovely new spring growth of the trees in the BG for added contrast.

The colors on the flower carpet are very intense and eye catching from the vignette already, also getting a glimpse of the mountains background is good to set the context

An explosion of colour, it is brilliant.
Good idea to frame out the sky, by doing that you've really focused attention onto the Tulips.
The fragrance must have been amazing.
It's a very pretty shot.

this is a view so dramatic to me. I never see them in reality and it seems that I will never will. Great ocean of red flowers and purple, and pink and yellow.

WOW! What a chromatic explosion in this capture!
The stripes of different colors in this luminous plantation of tulips give a great style and a great strength to the composition.
Its contrast with the trees and the mountains in the background is really magnificent.
You have created a very nice and very elegant composition.

I love Canada, with its many scenic changes. But there is a state that stands out for me, Alberta. Banff park and Jasper is paradise, but Tosca your photos are also the continuation of the landscaped paradise.

I like the deep red-pink-purple-yellow tulip colors because they contrast nicely with the greens & dark blues in the BG. The red-pink tones are beautiful and your comp works so well. I really love the feel of this. Very nice!

The wideness of the field is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the tulips. There is a good contrast betweenthe colors of the tulips. Have a nice day.

Hi Tosca,

Glancing through your gallery, this one jumps out and it is spring time now when the tulips are probably in full bloom now or soon. I think in thid case the low light work out perfect for you. It allow even color and not too much light and contrast. I love the variety of color combination here and end with treeline and grayish foot hill. Perfect composition.
