Photographer's Note
This is of course the famous statue of Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho in Bangkok, Thailand! Difficult to get a unique POV for this oft photographed masterpiece...but I tried something using the flowers in the FG
The purpose of this post today is because, two days from now, my family & I embark on a vacation to Chiang Mai in North Thailand & also to Bangkok while return. Hope to get smog & haze free days in Chiang Mai. The good news is it has rained in the last couple of days & taken the haze away.
Wish you all in Trekearth good health & see you, hopefully in April

Bonjour, cher ami Angshu,
Une image en or à tous points de vue.
La vue en gros plan de ce bouddha est excellente. Les détails ressortent à merveille (particulièrement l'arrière-plan).
Etonnant de beauté !

Namaste Angshu
This certainly is a tricky one to expose for but I think you have done very well, showing excellent detail in the shadow and in the bright light without being over or under exposed. Neatly composed, pin sharp in a nice tight framing with the necessary elements fitted superbly. The shiny golden color renders a superb contrast against the environment and tis would also look nice with those flowers popped out pulling the eyes in. A shot filled with a sense calmness. Another great shot at this religious site, well done. Have a safe journey!

Bonjour Angshu
You're right, it is not easy to photography the entire Reclining Buddha, but here the framing is working well!
800 ISO gave a good clarity allowing to see well the details.
Best regards

P.S we are right now in Bangkok, but I am normally leaving tomorrow to India, while Laurent will stay some more days in Bkk...contact him if you have time :)

Namaskar dear Angshu
Ive been there a few times and this reclining Buddha statue is enormous and difficult to photograph, even with a wide angled lens of 28mm. You've done well here, as well as handling the low light superbly. Tfs!

Hi Angshu,
I think the point of view works pretty well, as well as the flawless exposure, chich must be difficult with all those specular reflections.
Have a good trip!

Maybe a classical shot but the flowers in the FG give a nice twist. You have manged the exposure very well here,no blow out with the reflected light.
Again, have a good trip - stay safe

Hi Angshuman,
The flowers are helping to frame the Buddha. the point of view is showing the details and colors of the Reclining Buddha. The surrounding light has a special effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Angshu,
Very nice shot. I love it, it is not an easy shot to do because of the light and the reflection of the gold. I know because I was here and I have a few shot and they are not that good. Good POV, it really give the essence of how big and how tight it fit just under the ceiling. The inclusion of the flower are nice. Even some of the carving on the wall are in good detials.
This would fit the Theme on PF as well.

Dear Mr. B,
The flowers certainly give variation in texture and color. The light management, and resulting colors are surpassing. I have heard of the 'Reclining Buddha,' but know very little about it. Originally our trip in to Thailand in July of 2010 was to have been in Bangkok, but because of the unrest sweeping the city, the conference was changed to Phuket. The Reclining Buddha was high on my list of sites to visit, had it been in Bangkok.
Have a good week and enjoy your holiday in Thailand.
