Photographer's Note
English Pubs seem to go down well with TE members - so here is another one for you.
The Pear Tree is a fine pub, with an excellent restaurant, and is situated not many miles away from my last posting of " The Sign of the Angel" in Lacock.
More information about the Pear Tree can be found on this website.

Hello Peter,
A fine building looking very inviting. There's a nice, green frame to the picture (give my regards to the gardener).
Best wishes,
Gert

Hi Peter,
I love your English pubs, especially this one from the cotswolds looks very inviting. Cheers!
I also like the trees framing the building.
Once again you have done a great job.
Congratulations!
Best regards
Harriet

Hi Peter,
I get a certain feeling that you post all these pub pictures just for me. Well, I like English pubs (and so does my brother). Anyway, this photo is very good, the pathway up to the entrance is very good placed as a diagonal and the green leaves are excellently framing the building (which is very modestly featured here, hardly visible). But I must say, it seems quite expensive, £120 for a double room! We paid €60 per night for a room in Val di Boccio!
Greetings from Sweden

Hello, Peter.
You certainly appear to have a wealth of lovely pubs in Wiltshire and I think Gunnar likes his pubs too! Much better than the old Scottish "spit and sawdust" drinking-holes of yesteryear although we now have some nice places up here too.
The picture is very nicely framed by that lush foliage, the path leads nicely to the welcoming doorway and the colours and sharpness are spot-on as usual.
I've looked at the website to which you directed us and again cannot help but feel that the owners would have been better advised to commission you for the photographs of the place.
Excellent!
Best Wishes,
John.

Hello Peter
A heavy month workwise is now easing off so you may hear more from me. I also like your pub series, especially since we are experiencing a heat wave at the moment. I hope you are also investigating the interiors of these houses. Some notes on the quality of the ale, for example.
Beautiful contrast and balance with the stone and the foliage.
Regards
Phil

Hello Peter,
This is such a good advert for the pub.
They should pay you proportionally for increases in sales!
The pov, under the leafy archway, is a very interesting start! Then, the diverging pathway gives the eyes an altenative route. (I found my eyes flicking quickly up the l/h path for a sharp asessment, and then returning to go up the more interesting pathway more leisurely.)
The door is invitingly open! The greenery is lush and pleasing, the details are engaging and the composition is first rate.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

A very inviting scene Peter, not just because it is a pub!But because the composition leads us into the garden with its abundance of greens.
The arch of greenery is a good frame, and the checkered path takes us towards the building.
Cotswold stone is such a lovely colour.
Tfs, regards Jean.
