Photographer's Note
I am back home after my fantastic Uzbekistan journey. I have MANY pictures but I need time to see them and make selections. As some of you wanted to see the Aral Sea (now Aral desert - Aralkum) more closely, here the view of one of the ship. As you can see, the children are just playing there.
Bigger beta picture
General view. There is a group of nine ships and there are two ships more farther.
Aral Sea yesterday.

Hello Malgo,
Welcome back home. I am happy to hear you had such a great time. Excellent photo from what once was the bottom of the sea. The rusty boat is very well placed in the foreground and the children are a great addition too.

Hello Malgo,
Welcome back. These three photos are all fantastic and surrealistic and very sad. The children have fun and are smiling but this is almost as sad as ruins of war. This was a war against nature by unwise politicians.
How many photos did you take? 10.000?
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Malgo,
It is strange how the mood of one place can change so dramatically depending upon what you include!
When I saw your last photograph from this area I was filled with sadness and gloom.
Here we are again, at the same spot but with the inclusion of playful children, using their imagination, the gloom lifts and changes to cheerfulness!
Amazing!
Glad to see you back safely,
Bev :-)

Hello Malgo,Excellent capture
Strange how this sea, once the biggest inland sea in the world, has turned into a desert and only in a relatively short time. Excellent capture of this beached boat now turned into a children's playground. Very nicely illuminated with superb colour contrasts and very good sharpness.

Hi Malgo,
The presence of the people has an effect of scale. The point of view is showing the details of the rusted boats. The light is enhancing the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

Ils peuvent s'inventer beaucoup d'histoires !

Hello Malgo,
A fascinating photo with these rusty boats in the middle of this relatively young desert.
This is also a shocking example of how wrong use of the Aral Sea has led to this environmental disaster.
I am curious about your series of photographs of your visit to Uzbekistan.
Have a good weekend, groet Rob

Ciao Malgo. As you know, I have not been in this post and I'm very sorry. An incredible scenario, especially when compared to old WS photos. A tragedy but our guide told us that a project has already started to bring the lake back to its original state, even if very slowly. Beautiful and very significant photos.Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hello Malgo,
This is another interesting shot from the Aral desert. I guess the parents of these children don't mind them playing atop an very old and very rusty ship! These ships definitely fuel the imagination, and I like your capture, along with the bright, blue sky.

Hi Malgo,
It was an environmental disaster to irrigate cotton in such an arid region. The people who lived along the lake shore no longer have any income or food from fishing. Good sharpness and nice warm cold colour contrasts. The children playing on the abandoned, rusting boat animate the scene. Tfs!

Hi mlgo again
Once, there was a sea here, but no eathquake, landslide, only capture of the water for industrial and agricultural purpose. A good playground for the children now!
Cheers

Hello Malgo,
A fascinating picture but such a sad history.
The rusty wrecks contrast so strongly with the plain blue sky.
Do you know if these children were also visiting the place or did they live there somewhere in the surroundings? Maybe this place is now completely abandoned?
Best regards, Paul

Hello Malgo, I only learnt about this region recently on TE, so this shot of a rusting ship amidst the sand is fascinating.
Interesting that the children now play on it as if it was an adventure playground!
Lovely sharp shot.

Ciao Malgo
ho visto un documentario in tv dove parlavano di questo luogo.
Sei stata anche qui!!! Incredibile.
Ancora un viaggio da ricordare, ancora suggestioni, emozioni e sensazioni da aggiungere alla tua lunga lista.

Hi Malgo,
what a nice trip you seems to had, I envy you. This is rather strange scene to see a boat on land! On the other hand it's nice to see playful children, I'm quite sure that this must be great fun for them. Beautiful color tones on the boat and an attractive blue sky, well done!
Have a nice evening/

ps. Algiers was no problem at all and I visited most areas in the central parts. The south of the country is a big no-no to visit due terrorists and other criminals.

Hello, Malgo!
Curious view of these old boats in what used to be a sea, and now a desert, as you say in your note! Colors and sharpness are perfect to show this interesting and beautiful scene! Very nice job!

Hello Malgo,
Another two terrific photos of rust plus one documentary photo telling the story of a tragedy. 👍👍 I can't forgive the Soviets for what they have done.
