The port in the window, a photo from Novara, Piedmont

Photographer's Note

At the end of dinner in the restaurant by the lake, we went upstairs, completely deserted. In this way I was able to take other particular photos, like this reflection of the small port of Orta from which the boats leave for the island of San Giulio..Orta San Giulio is an Italian town of 1 397 inhabitants in the province of Novara in Piedmont. It is part of the circuit of the most beautiful villages in Italy and is awarded the orange flag by the Italian Touring Club. Part of the municipality of Orta San Giulio is the only island of Lake Orta, the island of San Giulio, which is about 400 meters from the shore. The island is dominated by the former seminary building, built in 1844 on the ruins of the castle. The seminar now houses the convent of cloistered Benedictine nuns Abbey Mater Ecclesiae. On the island there is also the Basilica of San Giulio, the most important Romanesque monument in the Novara area.

Al termine della cena nel ristorante in riva al lago, siamo saliti al piano superiore, completamente deserto. Ho potuto cosi' fare altre foto particolari, come questo riflesso del piccolo porto di Orta da cui partono i battelli per l'isola di San Giulio.Orta San Giulio è un comune italiano di 1 397 abitanti della provincia di Novara in Piemonte. Fa parte del circuito dei borghi più belli d'Italia ed è insignito della bandiera arancione da parte del Touring Club Italiano. Fa parte del comune di Orta San Giulio l'unica isola del Lago d'Orta, l'isola di San Giulio, che dista circa 400 metri dalla riva. L'isola è dominata dall'edificio dell'ex seminario, costruito nel 1844 sulle rovine del castello. Il seminario ospita oggi il convento di monache benedettine di clausura Abbazia Mater Ecclesiae. Sull'isola si trova anche la Basilica di San Giulio, il più importante monumento romanico del novarese.

Bonsoir Luciano,

Le drapeau attire le regard. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des bateaux et des immeuble. La lumière a un bel effet sur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Hello Luciano,
Even through a window into the darkness completely deserted with the soft glowing-light lamps on the street - more like a ghost island but still maintains its enchanting feel to it.
I would have thought that after a romantic dinner , the urge would be going back to the room :-))).
Yeah, I do like the blurry mysterious calm scene from the reflection. Go out and explore me. It's indeed a very small port - so quiet and empty.

Hello Luciano, an excellent reflection, it is so sharp and clear.
The lights illuminate the promenade and show that there are people walking about.
The yellow window frame is a colourful extra partially framing the scene.

The port, seen in reflection, embraces a very mellow mood from the lamplights and how their colours link with the colour of the window frame.

The reflection is very little distorted so we can appreciate the composition with its long perspective and very strongly placed national flag.

a nice view with the mood of the moment and the italian flag in evidence, there is a sadness mood in the image, even the flag looks sad.
