Photographer's Note
Children gathered waiting for a bus to get to school. Unfortunately female still treats differently.

Hi Armanee,
It's a damn shame 280 people had nothing to say about this picture.
The expressions on their faces. Their body language. I'm sure there are technical issues, but the emotion is amazing and very sad. I wish all the best to you, and them.

Hello Armanee,
This is a picture that touches the emotions. These children seem so vulnerable and their expression show anxiety. Their clothes are nit in good condition but at least they are able to go to school. A good documentary photograph and like Farah I think it is a pity that other TE members have not stopped by to comment or critique. It seems sometimes that people only want to see pretty pictures and cannot bear the harsher things in life, understandable I suppose but as this site is about tlaering about the worls it does no good to look the other way.

Bev

This is a fantastic shot, IMHO, for its historical and political significance - Afghan girls going to school! What an opportunity that they've been denied in the not-so-distant past!
Thanks for posting this.

Hello Armanee,
Amicalement,
Robert

Hello Armanee,
I agree with everyone helse here that this picture deserved a lot more attention. The expressions of those girls tell us a heartbreaking story of eagerness, attention, hope and maybe still some fear. One of the most important pictures on TE for a long time.
Thanks for sharing,
Gert

Hi armani - thank ypu for sharing this picture - others have commented on the appearance and atttitude of the girls and indeed it is a very telling picture - only the youngest looks at the camera - they all look old in some way for their age of you know what i mean - somehow apart from their expressions the uniformity of their shoes catches my eye the only uniformity......

This is a fascinating photo. I really like how all the women and girls seem very expressive, yet not looking at the camera. The one girl looking directly at you makes a very interesting statement. I have to say that after looking at the workshops, I really like the B&W version. It would also have been nice if there was a little more space above their heads, but that is a small thing. Very nice post.
Sincerely,
Kate
