In the sky...., a photo from Vayots Dzor, East

Photographer's Note

I just arrived in Paris after a night flight from Mumbai, India... no photos possible... this was last winter during another Mumbai Paris flight, here above Armenia... we just passed over lake Sevan and this is around the provincial capital of Eghegnazor. Sunset in the sky, the last rays hit the tip of the wing and it turned pink....
As I posted some other airplane shots, I'll start a theme...

Je viens d'arriver a Paris depuis Bombay, par un vol de nuit, pas de photos possibles... celle ci a été prise durant le meme vol mais dans l'autre sens, au dessus de l'Armenie, et l'on voit les montagnes au sud du lac Sevan, près de Eghegnazor, la capitale de la province de Vayots Dzor.
Les derniers rayons du couchant touchaient la pointe de l'aile , la colorant de rose.
Je rassemble mes photos d'avion dans un thème...

Thats marvellous and almost appears like heaven. A very beautiful capture thats full of imagination, freshness and energy. I like the texture and colour inter-play and the perspective. Good pov and use of depth. Overall creates a good impact. Nicely done. great job indeed.

How did you ever manage such clarity through an airplane window? I am impressed! I like the colours very much as well as the POV. But I am blown away that you achieved this technically... especially without any special filter... and with the "out of the box" lens for the XTI/400D. Maybe there is hope for my lens yet!

Dans le bleu du ciel qui se teinte partiellement d'un rose délicat et en dessous les massifs montagneux enneigés. Un morceau d'aile d'un gros oiseau qui porte le rêve aux divers endroits de la terre.
Une très belle image prise à partir d'un hublot d'avion.
La qualité est remarquable.

Tiens t'es revenu te les geler dans l'hiver europeen !
Elle me plait bien cette vue d'avion, elle beneficie d'une bonne clarte et on ressent le relief des montagnes bien accentue par la neige, c'est pas evident car la position elevee de l'avio a tendance a applatir le relief, ca doit etre assez haut comme sommets.

Hi Laurent, I often see photos like this &, its one I have done myself, however what I like about this one is the scenery, what a stunning landscape, also having the wing so high in the shot has assisted the composition greatly, the three steps of colour is beautiful, excellent clarity & a wonderful sight, kind regards Wilson.

I must tell you this, this is the first class photo from the sky. The best one I ever saw. What strike me the most is the rich and vivid colors. A very clean and clear photo. The wing indicates where you are at. It is not easy to accomplish a great photo from the moving plane, but you get it so sharp. How wonderful.

Cela ne peut être facile de prendre une photo de l'avion, car on est souvent au-dessus des nuages!
Celle-ci est superbe avec ses sommets enneigés, ce ciel bleu et puis rose à l'horizon.
L'aile ajoute du graphisme à l'image!

ce bleu et ce rose etaient faits pour se rencontrer !! je les trouve certaines fois en montagne à sur l'horizon opposé au soleil levant.
une belle chaine recente sortie d'un beau livre de geologie !!
la presnce de l'aile est importante pour la perspective.

Hello Laurent,

We all see the ground, and the mountains from the air, but this is a rare instance when it is this beautiful. You have captured a magnificent vision in pastel colors. Once I also lucked out, indeed when I was flying on Luftansa where they had WiFi in business class, and I was able to post a photo of the Austrian Alps fifteen minutes after shooting it.

Great photo, a real inspiration!

Je ne suis pas trop fan de ce type de vue, mais je dois avouer que celle-ci ne me laisse pas insensible.
Il y a 2 choses qui me plaisent bien ici : le ciel bi-chromatiques avec une ligne de séparation presque franche et le netteté/qualité que tu as. Et puis l'aile n'est pas si mal que cela, non plus.

Je suis vraiement sous le charme de cette photo qui est en plus de trés bonne qualité. le clair obscur est hypnotique !!! Les montagnes sont comme immortalisées dans un voile bleuté lumineux, et l'horizon aux couleurs du coucher de soleil est somptueux. Et puis l'aile de l'avion avec sa pointe illuminée qui crée cette sensation de vertige...
