Photographer's Note

My recent photos from Bhutan have mainly showed buildings, so it's high time for a few persons. These photos could probably all be regarded as nothing special, but to me people are always special.

During my stay in the pleasant little town called Trongsa in central Bhutan I asked my guide to show me the local marketplace. It was impossible to take photos discreetly, which I usually prefer, but this saleslady looked nice and readily agreed to pose. She asked me to send her a copy of the photo, so naturally I did that. I am not sure what she was selling, but the larger vegetables to the right look like they could be some kind of aubergines.

Here is a larger version.

I can not give you the map coordinates for this marketplace. I have travelled up and down the streets of Trongsa with the Google car but haven't found it, even though I had a fairly good memory of where it was. In that spot I now found a parking lot and a new house was being built in 2013, when the Google photos were taken.

One WS will show you a little boy, in the other one you can see a few women and two typical Bhutanese buildings. Today's photos were all taken in the streets of Trongsa and all were scanned from Kodachrome slides.
